I just got the new Canvas Background stamp and I am having trouble with lines from the ink showing up when I stamp it. I tried smoothing it out, but that doesn't help. Any ideas? Or how do you get the big background stamped well without the lines?
I had this at first too. I try to ink the stamp with the stamp facing up and pat the pad on the stamp. Then I try to kind of run the stamp over it to make sure it's smoothed around and doesn't have "pat" lines from inking it. This seemed to help. Good luck!
I have to tell you...I was doing a bunch of cards using a background stamp for a swap. I always layed the stamp wood-side down on the table and pressed the ink pad on top of it. Well, that was taking WAY too long and so I decided to try the brayer. WOWZA!!!!!! It was amazing how easy it was to get a nice even layer of ink on that background stamp.
I HIGHLY recommend using the brayer to ink up those large stamps. I will NEVER do it any other way!

Do you use the foam or the rubber??? I am not very handy with the brayer. I have tried it once or twice and my attempts were not so good Maybe I am just "brayer challenged"!

Once you have a brayer, you'll find you use it all the time. At least I do, it is great for big stamps, aging cardstock, flattening crumpled cardstock, etc. I might invest in another one, because I clean mine by running it under the faucet and am very impatient when I am using it for several colors, sometimes drying with the towel just takes too darn long!
