Default Stamping on furniture...

OK I have stamped on painted furniture and wood before using both acrylic paint and Staz-on...

I used a Kryon Fixif to seal the one painted wood item I have done - ...the Staz-on didn't run but I used a very light coat on that part of it.

I got a small woodern table and chairs from IKEA that I want to paint white - I have the Crayon Cuties set and was thinking of stamping the crayon in different colors all around the edge and put a "checkerboard" in the middle. I also want to stamp my girls names on each of the chairs...I might get some larger foam letter stamps for this though...

I have all the different colors of staz-on but I want to really seal the table with some type of polyurathane or some other heavy duty sealer so I can scrub it clean when it gets dirty since my almost 4 year olds will probably use it daily...and though I haven't tried it I am thinking the polyurathane will make the staz-on run.

Has anyone used the craft pads and polyed over it. does it cause it to run? What about sometype of pigment inks (like the colorbox ones)

I know I could use Acrylic paint but I want a nice sharp image...I figure I might play around on a piece of painted scrap wood this week but I figured I would see if anyone has BTDT...

Thanks in advance

I haven't stamped with craft pads on furniture, just acrylic paints, but I did have one customer who stamped and then drew some things in with sharpie and the sharpie ran. I couldn't believe it because sharpies are awesome! I've also sprayed over sharpie and never had a problem.

I would suggest playing with whatever inks, etc. that you're going to be using on a piece of scrap wood just to make sure.

I'd be interested in what you discover!
