Default This is SO AWESOME!!!

I just wanted to let you know that I just got my first batch of Pearl Ex about a week ago! I don't remember who posted on here had mentioned putting a 1/4 tsp. of PE in a small bottle with hairspray and alcohol...but I just wanted to say THANK YOU...THANK YOU...THANK YOU!!! This is SO cool!!!

I have been making cards all evening...I make the cards for birthdays at the school where I work...and had to go back and add to some of the cards I had already done, just because I love the sparkly look this technique gives the cards! I love it!!

Anyway, just wanted to say that you guys are all SO GREAT!!! I love the ideas I get on this site!!!

Have a great evening and God Bless!
Tracy

Tracy,
I've never tried this before. Which color PE did you use?

I only have one PE color, but I will be trying this out now. Of course, I have met my quota this past week with personal orders!!! Now I need to add PE to my order next week! I definitely am going to be broke - lets just hope DH doesn't suspect anything. He usually doesn't - of course, if you saw my stamping area - you can't tell what's new and what isn't!

What was the recipe you used? I guess I missed that and it sounds like a great idea. You sound awfully excited about it and I would like to give it a try.
Thanks, Andy

Default This is so awesome

I made the recipe with the hairspray and rubbing alcohol mix for the pearl ex. and I love it. I have one card with this technique done on my gallery and it doesn't show it off as well as I wanted it to, but it is so much fun. I'm showing it at shows with very new to stamping customers and it blows their socks off. You can make a mix of silver pearl ex and spray on gray cardstock and get the most beautiful shimmery effect....I've been playing with all the SU 48 colors with all kinds of mixes to see what they look like and so far I love them all. I hope to get some cards done to post in my gallery soon.

Default The recipe I used...

Hey there all...the recipe I used is to take a small spritzer/spray bottle and put 1 inch of hair spray in it, then 1 inch of rubbing alcohol, then 1/4 teaspoon of pearl ex...I made Misty Lavender, Duo Red-Blue, Super Copper, Pink Flamingo, and Duo Blue-Green! The Super Copper is super cool on dark colors like Forest Foliage and Baroque Burgundy! I made a card with these two colors and white...then sprayed it with the copper, and WOW!!!

Are you spraying paper to use as background paper? Or are you spraying a finished card so that the whole thing has the same shimmer? I guess it would work either way.

Have you tired embossing with it yet? Mix it with clear embossing powder and emboss as usual. I mixed some fall colors and embossed the leaves of the Autumn set on black cs. It was really pretty.
