I have to do a lot of scoring for a project that I'm working on and for some reason, all of a sudden, when I run my bone folder down the paper I'm getting chills down my spine....kind of like the chalk-board effect. Does anybody have a trick or idea to help with scoring my paper without making my teeth fall out? OMG...Just thinking about it makes my skin crawl. I have until tomorrow morning to finish this project (and I just started it) and I don't see how I can do it with this paper scoring problem that just reared it's ugly head. I really don't get it because it's never bothered me before and I'm using the same bone folder(s) and same type of CS. I thought about rubbing the paper with wax paper (I think I heard that before) but unfortunately, I'm fresh out!
I score with my embossing stylus. I just have to make sure that I don't use too much force.
I have a scor-pal so I would think that the embossing stylus would just cut right through the paper. I tried scoring without the scor-pal, hoping it wouldn't be so bad but then they lines are not straight and that's a big problem because if the lines are not straight not only will is mess up my project but I'll toss it and start over, and over and over. But, thanks for the tip. I just might try it anyhow if nothing else works.

Now why didn't I think of that??? But then there is always the chance of a hangover. Hum...hangover...chills....hangover...chills?? I think I'll take my chances with the hangover! LOL
I just don't understand why all of a sudden I can't stand to score paper. I've done tons of scoring and never had a problem until now.
Perhaps, running the bone folder down a candle, now and then, may give it a bit more 'glide' and eliminate the screech! I use a candle, with my embossing stylus, when I dry emboss. It works there so I don't see why it might not be the answer.
Of course, the peachy Fuzzy Navel sounds like and inspired idea. Hmmmm ... What time is it in Asia???
As a last resort you can try ear plugs or earphones with music .It might be enough of a distraction to stop the noise, feel, whatever from bothering you.
I have a Fiskars cutter that has the black score blade you can pop in. The score blade is so cheap, comes with a blade refill in the pack, and can be used over and over and over.
