This is kind of a dumb question for my first post, but I need help with the RSVP pens. I read on here somewhere, that you could take the words off with fingernail polish remover. I tried this and it worked fine on the first pen. But on the next 3 pens I tried, the pen barrel became cloudy. Am I doing something wrong. I also read that you could use rubbing alcohol, but this didn't work at all. I am using these for the stamped paper inside not the beaded pens.
I did the exact same thing - ruined one pen with the nail polish remover, and had no success with the rubbing alcohol. Charisma suggested that I try 90% rubbing alcohol. I tried that last night, and it worked great!!! Good luck!

I had the same result w/ np remover, a cloudy pen. I could not find 90% alcohol, where did find yours? Also, what size of paper are you using to put inside the pen? Will you be posting a picture of it when you are done?
I have made pens in the past with the beads on the outside and body oils and use will eventually make the tiny beads come off so working with the inside of the pen would be a nice change.
Thanks

Actually, it says it is 91%! My husband picked it up - either at Wal-Mart or the drug store. Hopefully I will get to the making of the pens this weekend.

If you have one of these they also have RSVP pens on sale this week buy one get one free. I got 6 pens for 1.99 - $0.33 each. I thought that was a pretty good deal.
It's a state by state thing. I had never even seen 90% until I got back here. Couldn't figure out what to buy so went with what we had in CA. Too bad it's like 70%.
Mary,
Just stamp on copy paper (not cardstock) and roll it up. Unscrew the bottom, slide the rolled paper into the barrel of the pen. Size is 1" X 3" or so. Sometimes mine are a little longer. Screw the bottom back on and Voila!!

Hi Mary!
I'm in Albany. If ya want to make beaded pens, come on over! I'd love to have a stampin-playmate. I love to make the beaded pens, I usually make a couple a weekend. I also found some mechanical pencils that take & hold beads well. They're fun too. My daughter has made a few to take back to school.

Do you glue the piece together? I had a problem with my paper not looking nice after I rolled it up. You could definately see where the seam was. DO I need to use smaller stamps? I used a wheel.
I have been searching the website for over an hour. I want to make these pens for gifts, and have no idea what kind of pens are being used. Could somebody please tell me what is a RSVP pen, and where can I find them?
Thanks a bunch!!!
Shari
RSVP is a brand of pen made by Pentel. That's why people want to remove the words. I leave mine, because it's gold so it looks fine and is hardly noticable.
