Default reverse masking

This technique has me intrigued! Especially where the image is stamped and then somehow a colored box is inked around the image Could someone explain how to do it or direct me to a tutorial?

Smile The Stampin' Place

Hi Cathie - Here's a great site for tutorials of all kinds. In the first column, under Basic Techniques, click on "Masking." Also, check out their "Scenery Stamping" (top of second column). Good luck and have fun! Linda

Talking Howdy neighbor

You might also look at the SCS resources page -- click on "resources" at the very top of this page. Scroll down to "Retiform (Grid Technique)." This might be the reverse masking that you are looking for.
P.S. Where are you in Western Washington? We might even be "neighbors."

Thumbs up Reverse masking

Hiya!

This was also a challenge from last night's VSN - Virtual Stamp Night. KarrieLyne posted instructions and her sample card in the first thread. I haven't tried it, but it looks good & easy!!

Stamp your foreground image first and stamp it again on some scrap paper or a sticky note. Trim the image on the scrap exactly, or slightly smaller. Layer this mask on top of the foreground image. Stamp your background on top. The background will appear behind the foreground image when you remove your sticky note
