I am fairly new to stamping..can someone explain the term resist stamping and Baby wipe method??? Thanks so much
Here are two links to excellent tutorials on resist stamping....basically resist stamping is using something to make the ink resist areas you don't want the ink to penetrate. I love to use the crayon resist technique, I stamp my image on glossy card stock, then use a white crayon to the areas I don't want the ink to color. Then I either use a brayer or sponge my ink or inks till I get the desired effect. Once I have the coloring I like, I take a tissue and wipe away....that takes any color off the area I used the white crayon on. It will also take the white crayon off and leave "highlights" where the white crayon was. I love this technique so much, none of my grandkids boxes of crayons have white one in them! There is also a link to a glue resist technique also.
There is also emboss resist and versamark resist (also known as ghosting). Each technique gives a different look.
The baby wipe method is usually referring to using a baby wipe to make your own ink pad using more than one color. I think of it as looking similar to tie dye.
I would recommend clicking on resources in the upper right corner. You will find tutorials on these and many other techniques.
