? Re: Making scented stamped cards
I am curious if anyone has tried using cocoa powder made for baking with their clear emboss powder to make scented chocolate stamped images?
If not then what are people using?
I have strawberry koolaid ( sugar free) and baking cocoa ( sugar fee) and would like to try with a retired Chocolate set.. Any thoughts or idea to throw my way? TYIA>Kim

as long as it is sugar free baking cocoa it will work great. I have done it with the sugar free kool aid. It is a lot of fun and turns out great. Just be careful not to overheat it.

i second the scented embossing powder by gel-a-tins (that company anyway). they have chocolate, latte, coffee, bubblegum, cherry, lilac. i like them! you just have to keep them in a sealed bag until you give it away to keep the scent.

I design for: Stampendous!, There She Goes, Technique Tuesday,
SRM Stickers and Deconstructed Sketches.
I've done SF Koolaid and ground coffee and they work great. Smells fabo! I'll bet the chocolate will be fantastic too! Maybe you can just use plain cocoa powder.
They are very fun to make and to send! I put a "scratch and sniff" note on the inside so they know what to do!!!
I've used sugar free Kool Aid, Jello, and cinnamon, All worked great. To be more cost efficient I started buying the single serve beverage packages for water bottles, Wal Mart has lots of flavors. Never tried cocoa.
Just this weekend I tried making a "scratch and sniff" card usnign hot chocolate (low cal to reduce sugar and hence burning) and it really didn't work very well. Then I thought of using the cocoa powder (duh!!??) but I haven't had a chance to try it yet!!! WE'll see who tries it first I guess.
I have tried the sugar-free kool-aid and jello, but it doesn't turn out very well for me. It is a real easy technique, but not the results that I like. :( Anyone have some pointers?

I don't know if I am doing something wrong, but all of the scents I tried didn't work very well, especially the cocoa powder. The kool-aid did better, but still, it doesn't smell for very long and not worth it, in my opinion.
unsweetened cocoa powder does not work at all.
"less sugar" cocoa mix does not work well either.
disappointed with sugar free chocolate pudding mix.
kool-aid worked better than all of the above but result was bumpy.
would like to know if there is a "sugar free" cocoa mix out there that could be tried. nothing available at grocery stores, even Henry's, in San Diego.
wished it worked as well as they made it out to be too. btw, best to use the same color pigment pad as the powder color to get a richer color.

Yes I didn't like the cocoa powder either. I was sad and it was messy,
It isn't as grand as the article sounds!
However we did have fun with the following:
We used unsweetened kool aid packets to make scented play doh for the kids last night and that was really fun.
Less messy as we used gallon size plastic baggies tomix the oil flour and saly in with the packet.
They loved the homemade play doh!
Maybe we should just make play doh for the kids and skip the scented emboss powders unless we buy it already scented. lol
