I'm looking for a technique that enables you too transfer a photo/picture to something else like paper, wood, etc. I heard of one in which finger nail polish remover is used, however, I don't know the whole process of this technique.
If anyone knows of one please let me know... Thank you so much!
hello... I just ordered 90 transfer pens (a minimum wholesale order) markers that you can transfer photos to things like dominos, metal tins, tags,, etc. I should have them any day. I have looked all over the place for them and could not find them so I ordered wholesale. Anyways... all you do is xerox copy a photo or in my case a stamped image (using stampin up stamps of course). Then you take the xerox copy and lay it down face down onto the domino or metal and then rub this marker over the backside of the copy paper. TA DA the image is rubbed off onto the domino or metal. It is so cool... Then you just spray a sealer over it and it is WAA-LAA beautiful. by the way the pens sell for about 5.50.
I'm curious about this technique, as well. I tried the link and it didn't work for me. Several years ago I saw a sample of a photo transfer that had been done onto fabric. I remember that you had to have a Xerox copy to start (ink jet won't work) and then kerosene was painted onto the backside of the print as it was placed on the fabric. I never tried it to see if it worked, but the sample was awesome for detail and was suposedly permanent on the fabric. It would be messier than using the special pen, but might be worth trying if that is not available.
This is FABULOUS! Please, do tell who manufactures these pens and where can I buy them. I can hardly wait to here back from you! This will make my life so much easier!

has the Chart Pak blender pens for $1.99 - they work great for photo trasfer because they contain xylene. Shipping is a bit high, so I recommend getting together with some friends and ordering them together. I just bought 4 of them and it came to a little over $16 w/ shipping. HTH!
I used to buy something called Transfer Medium, in a large bottle like paint comes in. I think Aleenes made it. I used to tear pictures right out of magazines, apply this stuff to the front of pic, lay it face down on fabric, wait 24 hrs to dry, then you geta wet sponge and moisten the image and start gently rubbing the paper off. Once the paper is all gone, the image stays, its just reversed(if any words, they will be backwards. I used to take flower pic from magazines and put them on fabric for pillow, shirsts etc. Look in JoAnnes or other fabric/craft stores.

One of my first THO classes was the simple photo transfer technique I got from the Hero Arts website (www.heroarts.com - find it under the "Learning Centre" then go to "Techniques" & then "Accent Techniques". ) I wasn't so fond of the sample that they showed on the website - being an SU girls you know! - but I did play around with it pictures from old Martha Stewart magazines (nice clean images) & then added "Botanticals" as the accent stamping with great success! My stampers still love the technique & I get lots of requests to do it again. I'm just loaned my last sample to one of my downlines, but I'll post it as soon as I make another. Good luck!

I just bought the Transfer Ink from this link a couple of weeks ago. I haven't had a chance to play with it yet but have some ideas and can't wait to start. It's on sale for less than $5 a bottle.
I would never use an original. If using a photo, use a copy or one you have printed off the computer. The Transfer Ink I bought specifically says to use with inkjet ink (as well as others)....

You can get these pens at www.acountrywelcome.com and I'm not part of them. I just know that have them, vicki demoed the pens at convention last spring. Don't remember the price but you can check there website.
