Does anyone remember who posted (or where I can find it) that cute little wood pencil with a charm attached on the eraser end with a very small eyelet? I thought I had saved it to my favorites, but NOT!!
I think I know what you mean - I saw a picture of a pencil with a little polyshrink "charm" hanging off the top but I can't find the website!! Whoever it was, they sold the polyshrink as well as the tiny little screw-eyes to hook the charm onto the pencil.
I had my 15 yr. old son drill the smallest drill bit through pencils I got at
Wal-mart. I then took an eye hook used for earring or jewelry work,
bent it around a pencil for the right size, cut with a tiny jewelry wire cutter.
Then threaded the charms and beads onto that wire, using a round nose pliers I bent in one end into a hole that was through the pencil, and bent the other end into the other hole. The beads and charm dangle ever so sweetly.
The charms I made were initals of students using Alpha Attitude Alphabet set, stamped onto white shrink poly, trimmed with a little extra on top and in that space I punched a hole with the 1/8th hand held punch. I used the heat gun to shrink them, using a kabob skewer to hold in the hole.
I attach a jump ring to these charms to attach to the wire on pencil.
My son's 4th grade teacher asked me to make them for her for student Christmas gifts after seeing the one I made for my son were I spelled out
his name. Very fun, easy if you like putsy stuff, which I do!!
