partial cuttlebug
Anyone have instructions for partial cuttlebug? Where the center is still flat paper. I've seen it done, but no one explains how. Thanks a million. Rachelle
|
You run the top of your paper first, reverse the handle, turn your card stock around and do the other end, this leaves the middle clear (flat)
Am I clear ;) |
not really clear! How do you do the sides w/out overlapping the corners that were already done??
|
the portion you are going to emboss is your top layer of your card, if the card is an A2 "41/2x51/2, then your top layer will be 4 1/4x5 1/4, you have a straight piece of card stock. Take one end put 3/4 or what ever amount of card stock you want embossed the rest will be hanging out of folder. Dont forget your folder will go in side ways, as your card stock goes in the side of the folder.
Better?? I know it is difficult when you do not have pictures. |
Do you have a link to a card with this technique? I'd love to see it. TIA!

thanks for all your answers. Marcia your work is gorgeous. Seeing the actual results does help out. I did want to make communion invitations w the center not embossed so I can add a cross. Your directions helped, but I'm getting pressed for time and I only have round nesties. Thanks so much for the pictures.

Any clue on how to prevent the indention of the outside edge of the CB folder from showing up after you turn to each side?

http://www.heartprints.net/gallery/CBUG/ Linda Just have to share - if not for Sue Nelson's site and those gorgeous cards, I would never have purchased the Cuttlebug cutter. I already have an old style Sizzix, the sidekick, a QK handtool and a Zip e Mate (made by Accucut), as well as a Wishblade. Unfortunately none of those machines allowed the cuttlebug embossing folders to be inserted sideways and partial embossing wouldn't work without it. So I waited for a coupon from Michael's and got a CB machine. DH thought I was nuts until he saw a card I CASE'd from Sue's site. |

oh my gosh!! these are ALL gorgeous cards!
I just got a cuttle bug and oodles of embossing folders for my birthday!.. I cant wait to get out my CB and score pal and give this a try! thanks SO much for sharing this info! michelle. |
I think that if you had a Cuttlebug folder that you would want to emboss completely around a plain square frequently that you could cut out the center with a utility knife.
|
Thanks for sharing. I can't wait to try my own!

Anyone else remember that? Or am I crazy?? |
What great ideas! Subscribing for inspiration!
|
Ooops, I almost forgot! I also saw (on a blog, will try to find it) where the woman left the edge of the folder hanging outside of the sandwich plates. It was like Plate A, Plate B, folder with paper lined up on the edge of B - whatever you don't want embossed should hang off the plate, then B on top - lined up with other plates. Roll through as usual.

WOW awesome cards! I can't wait 'til I get my CB on my birthday. (I know what it is because I gave my DH the JoAnns coupon) :) I love the ideas - and had been wondering how to do the embossing side ways and over half the card -- thanks for all of the info!

Also on her site was a suggestion on how not to get the indentations from the small CB folders. She said to reverse the handle when you almost to the end of the folder and not go over the edge. That would work for the top or bottom. For the sides, she said try an extra layer of cardstock.

Whoa her cards are inCREDIBLE!!
