I really don't know what you call it but I call it a box scrapbook. It's a box and when you take off the top it has 3 or more layers of flaps that unfold and you add pictures.
Thanks,
Jane
You need to cut 8 pieces of 2 3/4 inch squares and 8 of 2 1/4 inch squares
Outside of box
cut 11 1/4 square and score around it at 3 3/4 inch from outside edges
Middle
cut 9 3/4 squares and score around it at 3 1/4 inch from outside edges
Smallest
cut 8 1/4 squares and score around it at 2 3/4 inch from outside edges
then go back and cut out the corner squares from each of the above so each piece will look like a cross
Cover 5 7/8 square and score at 1 inch - do not cut the square off of this piece though but rather just cut on line of the corner squares as this flap you glue as you are folding it to make box top
the first 2 cuts of 8 each of cs are your photo mats or journaling mats
Directions and illustrations for this type of "scrapbook" are in the June/July 2005 issue of Paper Crafts magazine. They call it a Nested Photo Box and I am hoping to get it made for Grandmas for Christmas!
