Default Melted Crayon

Well, after reading Beate's tutorial on melted crayon, I thought, "Even I can do that!" WRONG...lol

OK, so my backgrounds came out ok, but here are a couple of pointers...

Yellow (with pink and green) turns everything a nice shade of grayish brown... :?

I think when the tutorial says to rub your paper on the melted crayon you are supposed to put your paper down and rub the iron on the paper. OR wear oven mits... :o

Peel your crayons before you start, duh!

I'm going back to try new colors now.

I had my iron standing up and just held the paper on one side and rubbed it over the iron, then held it on the other side and rubbed the other side over it. Whatever works best for you. I surely did not lay the paper down and rubbed the iron over it.

Maybe that is why mine doesn't look too good. I'll have to try it the way you described it. My angel daughter (said dripping with sarcasm) told me that it looked like someone puked on my paper! LOL

I'm going to try it again. Thanks, Beate!! You're the best!!

I did run my iron over my paper. I did have scrap paper underneath of course! lol Will have to try it by holding it but wasn't sure how. Was a real fast try last night.

Whoooo Hooo I made 3 this evening, I'll post them tomorrow. I still have to finish one! Thank Beate for the great instructions, already looking forward to the next tutorial!

I found this out while making one. When you rub your iron on your paper, don't rub to hard, the foil will leave an ugly gray mark!

Default Thanks a lot!

Not sure if i should say thanks, Beate, for the directions to this technique! My kids are losing their crayons pretty fast! lol I told mom that my exchange partner could buy me a whole new box of the largest set of crayons for Christmas and I'd be happy! Thanks for a great technique. I have uploaded two cards so far!
