Default Looking for unique marker techniques

I have started a marker club with experienced stampers and they want me to show them some unique marker techniques. I have a few ideas already, but I am looking for something to really "wow" my stampers! Any ideas will be greatly appreciated!

I can think of two. Thumping is the first one. And then the one where you color on the rubber and spritz and get a watercolor look.

Hope that helps,

I used a set of Dollar Store metallic markers to scribble this background then overstamped with writing. If you use watercolor markers you can scribble the same way and then spritz with water and tilt the card/paper until the colors run into interesting shapes. Also make a mix of 1/4 cup water, 1 tablespoon liquid hair spray (not the aerosol kind) and 1/4 teaspoon Pearlex powder in a small spritzer bottle, shake to mix well and spray your scribbled background to add a nice shimmer effect. Good luck with your demo.

Great ideas. Thank you for your help. This is my first time on Splitcoast stampers and I am overwhelmed with the ideas I have received in such a short time!
Thank you!

Default Plastic wrap technique

There is also the plastic wrap technique. Take a piece of plastic wrap and lay it flat on your work surface. Using two or three different colors of marker, starting with the lightest color, scribble randomly on the plastic wrap. After you have scribbled with all colors, crumple the plastic wrap into itself to mix the colors. Open the plastic wrap. Take a piece of cardstock and lay it on top of the plastic wrap. Press gently. The color will transfer from the wrap to the cardstock. Makes for interesting backgrounds.

Hope this makes sense.

Smackin' Acetate-
Take a piece of acetate(window sheets) cut a little bigger than piece you already stamped. Scribble colors(choose 2-4) in spots filling the sheet without having the colors touch. Lightly spritz(I spritzed about 2 feet from above the acetate.) Then turn over on your stamped piece and smack it on there. The color will spread, so that is why you don't want the colors touching or the colors will become muddy looking.

The scans doesn't show the ligjter colors(yellow and gable green). I hope you like.

On the Smackin Acetate--did you remove the acetate after you smacked it against the card stock?

I really like the effect!

Yes. after you smack it together, remove the acetate. You then clean the acetate with a damp papertowel and reuse for the next card.

Default WOW!!!

I have to say that I am always thoroughly and positively amazed at the things some of you come up with! Where was I when this creativity was passed out? I think I was sick at home that day! Thanks for the samples -- it is awesome to see things already done because I'm truly not visual. The samples make things pop and I appreciate you sharing!

Thank you for the compliments. I learned this technique from my upline. It really is fun to learn new things you can do with the things you already have.

I forgot about this one. Use the acetate or an old AOL cd as a palette. scribble the colors you want to use to watercolor.
