Ok I tried to do black bubbles on Green galore paper today and nothing happened! Can someone tell me how to do this and make it work? I did a shallow pan with dishsoap, water, and then out ink in and blew bubbles. Then I layed the paper on top of bubbles and nothing really.
Thanks!

This technique seems to work best on glossy cardstock instead of regular cardstock but you can get it to work. You have the right ingredients. I use a shallow gladware bowl, 4-5 drops of dishsoap, about 30 drops of reinker and mix it gently with the straw. Holding the container at an angle I blow bubbles till they begin to go over the side of the container. Next, I set my papers on the bubbles gently. Then flip paper over and pop bubbles that attached and repeat blowing, dunking and popping till I have the look I want. The smaller bubbles closer to the water will hold the most ink and stick better to the paper. But once again, they stick much better to glossy cardstock than the regular kind.
It might be that you're having trouble because you're using a darker color paper and maybe not enough ink in the water.
HTH!

bubbles
I did this technique the other day for VSN. I have a card in my gallery if you want to check it out. I had to use a LOT of re-inker and a LITTLE bit of water to make it work. I actually had to order another ballet blue re-inker because it was almost gone! LOL It's a bit of a pain. I used ultrasmooth white cardstock. Like the previous poster said, you have to get your paper down far enough for the ink to touch your paper, and that is right above the surface of the water.
Someone on SCS taught me to do this technique by putting a few drops of reinker ON TOP OF the bubbles, then applying the paper to the bubbles, rather than mixing the reinker in with the soapy water. It gets too diluted if you mix it in.
I tried the ink on top of the bubbles but nothing yet. Must be my paper then. I tried with a ton of ink and still nada. :( I will have to wait until my White gets here next week and try it with that! Thanks for all the great tips! Will let you know if I get it to work!!

I do it differently with better results, more controlled
I use a plate and put a bit of water on the plate. Then I drip a few drops of reinker or food coloring. Then I add several drops of dishsoap (make it kinda rich).
Then I take a straw and dip it on the tray. After that, I blow bubbles (soft blows) onto the paper. I can control how big my bubbles are, how many rings around them, a hollow center, dark center, etc.
Make sure to lay your cardstock on some paper towels.
This tech. is less messy and you use WAY less supplies.
I posted an ATC with this technique on another site. I also have several pages of white cardstock done so I can use that whenever I need it.
I'm currently making a 12x12 layout with a bathtub, and bubbles overflowing, but it's not done yet.
