Default How to make a splint/cast

You all are far more creative than I am when it comes to making cards. So, here's a question for you experts ;). I'd like to make a Get Well card with my IG stamps. IGs are subject to frequent legbreaks, so I'd like to make some with splints/casts on their legs. The stamps are pretty small in size, so I'm not sure how I'd go about doing this. I thought of a cutting out the image, and cutting some masking tape in thin strips and wrapping it around the legs - not sure how it would lay though. Any other ideas?? Please?? The stamps I'd like to use this idea on are below.

Here is just an idea. If you cut out the image, so you could attach to the card with big pop ups - then you would be ok with some dimension to your "cast". white adhesive tape could work, but I might even try gauze - maybe soak it in modpodge and the wrap? (Its how they used to make real casts actually - only not with mod podge. Anyway - good luck!

A friend of mine broke his arm and I made him a get well card using the boy from Crayon Kids. For the cast, I used white Liquid Applique. You simply squeeze a small amount over the area you want to cover, let dry (overnight is best) and then when it is dry, simply heat with your embossing gun. The Liquid Applique puffs up, giving a 3-D look. It worked like a charm. I got the idea from a card I saw on this site. It was so long ago, let me see if I can find the card.

I found it! Here's the link to the card which inspired me: Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
