how do you set chalk?

I made a card for my DH and used chalk (I usually only use cat's eyes chalk but didn't this time) and when you pick up the card you end up with chalk al over you - so my question is what do you use to set the chalk?

You can use an aerosol spray sealant for crafts or I've also heard that aerosol hairspray also works.

Cheap aerosol hairspray works perfectly. Just hold the paper 10-12 inches away and *lightly* spray.

I've accidentally sprayed a few things too close and too much, it does leave an interesting effect on the chalk, but the paper tends to curl.

I have found that a light wipe with a Swifter seems to set the chalk. I use it for Perfect Pearls, too.

I bought some chalks at the last stamping convention. They were pricey but they weren't supposed to smear. Well, I wouldn't say they don't smear at all...but they are about 90% better than the chalks I was using. Usually I blow off the major excess and then flip over onto a clean sheet of paper and just rub the back of the image. I haven't had any problems with it smearing after that.

The cheaper the hair spray, the better but I just don't bother & it stays on.

I have also had good luck with craft setting spray - I like matte finish.
