I know there is a way to make a moon with versamark, but I've never done it & didn't see a tutorial on it. I was sure there was a tutorial, so I must just not be seeing it. I've seen some that have a beautiful glowing effect around the moon. How is that done?
Also, if I want a tree in front of the moon (covering part), how do I do that? STamp it before I do the versamark or mask the tree when I put the moon it?
You need to check out Michelle Zindorf's gallery here on SCS. She does this extremely well and has a link to her blog which has complete, step by step tutorials for her gorgeous creations.

I agree, Michelle does a beautiful job. I have found the easiest way is to use a circle punch (trim or repunch it if you want a cresent moon) from a sticky piece of paper. Make sure when you punch it, you get the sticky part. Then you can place it wherever you want and brayer, sponge or stipple to create the effect your looking for.
If I'm understanding the effect your looking for, place your circle (moon) on your paper, brayer or sponge your sky, remove the mask then stamp your trees. You could also stamp your trees over the mask (depending on the look you want to achieve). You can also buy moon stamps on Stampscapes.com as well as many other websites. Have fun experimenting and creating!

I also use a circle punched from a sticky note. Use the hole in the sticky note to make the moon then use the circle to mask the moon so you can color over it or make the halo around it. I don't usually use Versamark for the moon; I use So Saffron sponged lightly so it's not stark white.
FYI, I just uploaded a card we did in stamp club. If you want to check it out, go to my gallery and look for the Moon & trees card. This was brayered then sponged over. Hope it helps.
