Default help with melt pot

Hi
I hope I am posting this request in the right place.
I have just had a play with my melt pot - the first time & I've only had it since time began
I didn't have any UTEE, so used normal clear EP - it seemed ok - I dipped little "fabric" flowers - & the petals seem to have stuck together a bit. Will I crack the embossing if I snip with fine scissors between the petals? Also it seemed to keep a build up in the centre of the flower. If I don't like the result can I drop it in the melt pot next time & re-melt or something?
Any good tips for using the pot would be very much appreciated.

I've used the melting pot only with Utee and with the project pan insert for beeswax. While I'm almost sure you can reheat the regular embossing powder and pour it out, I'm not sure what will happen to the "fabric" on your flower in the reheating process. Chances are it's synthetic and could melt onto the pot and ruin it. I've snipped embossed images with no problem, but they were on paper not fabric. If it were me, I'd start over using Utee, or get the project pan and try beeswax.

I use the quick dip method and then build up my layers until I'm happy. If you start with thin layers it is easier to get the thickness you want.

If you are concerned about the fabric being synthetic, once you have melted the EP/UTEE you can turn the melt pot to a lower setting and once it reaches that then dip. The liquid may be a little thicker though.

Best thing to do would be to play around and experiment.

I have learned to use metal teaspoons rather than plastic ... lol

The Suze's melting pot takes a while to heat up, but I found that even with the UTTEE you have to be patient with the melting time especially when you first turn it on. I love making little pieces of jewelry and decorating items for cards. Just a thought or two here.
