Default Folders as card holders

Has anyone taken a regular colored folder and made it into a holder for stamped cards? If so, can you please share some general directions?

Smile Making holders out of folders

You take a 2 pocket folder and basically cut out the middle 2 inches (1" on each side of where the folder is folded). You now have 2 pieces that have pockets. Fold these pieces in half and voila, you have 2 holders. The white ones are nice to stamp on. Very simple.

If you're looking to make a 2-pocket card portfolio out of the folder, I got directions for that off of this site at one time, but can't find them now. It involves cutting down the center fold only about about 1/2 way. Then you cut those 2 pieces in a curve, or point or whatever, score and fold over the pockets. The points can tuck into a little half circle you have cut in the pocket part.

I'll keep looking for my instructions, or maybe someone else has them handy.

Hope this helps!

Default card folder

Take a 8.5x11 piece of cardstock. Fold in half at the 5.5 inch mark aka hamburger fold. Next, fold up at 2 inch mark from the long edge. On the 2 inch side make an angle cut. The exact template I am talking about is listed in the template section here...photo folder is what it is listed as.

Hello again,
Not exactly what you're looking for, but another neat idea on how to use those cheap folders!

JR. LEGAL PAD COVERS WITH POCKET

MATERIALS (makes 2 notebooks):

(1) 2-pocket folder (2) Jr. legal pads
24 of wide organdy ribbon Mono Adhesive
Deco scissors Stamps and ink
Paper trimmer(having a scoring balde helps)

- Cut the 2-pocket folder in half on the factory fold line so you have 2 separate pieces of the folder - each with a pocket on it.

- Trim it down to 8 1/4" x 10 3/4". Save the scraps!

- Take the scrap piece and cut it to 3/4" x 5". Attach this piece to the top of your legal pad to cover up any logo that may appear (tacky, tacky to leave it showing!)

- Turn the folder so that the pocket is on the right or left (depending on which side of the folder you are using - each one will be different. The pocket will now be vertical. Score at 5 1/4" and 5 1/2" (this will be your "binding edge" for your legal pad to fit into.

- Stamp the front cover OR if you want to use layers, attach ribbon* first. To make a layer, cut paper to 5 x 8 and trim with deco scissors. Stamp and tape onto the front of your notebook.

-Inside you will want to trim the pocket at an angle. This looks great done with deco scissors! You now have a pocket for your papers to go in to!

- Tape the Jr. Legal Pad to the other side making sure it fits into your scored lines nicely.

*Ribbon should be cut to 24" long. Wrap it around the middle so that it will tie on the side. If you are using layers, add a piece of tape to secure the ribbon in place.
