When using Pearl Ex powders, the floor wax acts as a sealer. You simply fill the aquapainter with floor wax, dip the tip in to the Pearl Ex powder, and paint your image.

Hope this helps.

I think it has to be floor wax - it's the wax that acts as the sealer.

I also don't use an aquapainter, but use a dried up blender pen that I dip into the floorwax, then into the pearlex. Works just fine for me.

Default Pearl Ex gets floored

I always use Future brand. It is a totally clear acrylic so it doesn't change the color of your pearl ex at all, plus it seals and protects. I love this technique as it can be used on paper or on nonporous surfaces. I just did a domino swap using the "Pearl Ex gets floored" technique and, if I do say so myself, they turned out very nicely.

Just be certain to thoroughly clean your aquapainter when you are done or the Future will gum it up. Some people say to have a seperate aqua just for Future, but I just clean mine up really well and use it for water too. And be sure and use a light touch when you paint. A tiny bit of pearl ex goes a long, long way. HTH

You are right. I read in another post that Future is NOT wax at all. It is an acrylic finish and that's why it works.
