Default Favorite techniques

What is your favorite stamping technique? There's a lot of cool things to try but a lot of them are so messy and time consuming...when it comes to practical stamping, I always can count on a good ole' DD set and a couple great ink pad colors for a quick and colorful card.

Colorbook technique is probably my least favorite because I never know what colors to use until I see someone else use great colors first.

My favorite "technique" (it isn't really) is wetting and crumpling up cardstock. Then flatten it out and let it dry. That and tearing the edges of cardstock. Oooh! And I love bleach! Those are all easy and only the bleach is messy but it isn't time consuming. Here is a sample that uses some of my favorites.

That's called Crumpled Resist and it's a great technique!! I like to ink the cardstock and spritz it with water before crumpling. Then I unfold and use a darker ink to lightly go over the raised surface. I let this dry then I stamp on it (usually collage style with vintage type stamps) then stamp the entire card with versamark and use clear embossing powder. It's so pretty and you just want to keep touching it

I'm really into Polished Stone right now myself and I'm getting ready to try Faux Silk, Faux Suede, Distressed Paper, Northern Lights, Split Negative, Chalk Dragging, Masking Tape, and the Warhol Technique!!

So many techniques... so little time!!

Default Northern Lights

Please explain the northern lights technique. I have seen it in the gallery but everyone who has done the technique doesn't explain how to do it

Thanks for your help

I love the faux mother of pearl technique and the polished stone (2 of my favorites)

Check out this technique challenge for the Northern Lights technique. I have been discovering some wonderful instructions in the Splitcoast Challenges forums.

My favorite is Polished Stone, wax paper resist and faux leather. I tend to do these most. I actually will do a bunch at once of each so I have some on hand at all times. I will just vary my colors so I can use them a variety of ways.

Polished stone, paper-tearing, distress-inking edges, watercolor pencils w/blender pens. There are others, but that's all I can think of at the moment.

Hi -

My current favorite is using felt and reinkers to create a tye-dyed effect to stamp the image in
