Default Faux Metal HELP!!

I'm doing the faux metal technique and using 3 layers of embossing powder. I keep getting bubbles when I stamp the image. Why and how do I stop the madness?!

Are you holding the heat gun too close?

How would I know if the heat gun is too close? Do you think maybe I'm overheating the EP?

Talking faux metal madness!!!

I have heard it said that you should not heat the first 2 applications too much as they get hot when you heat the last one. HTH. (hope this helps) I've had similar trouble with enamelling jewelery.;)

When you hold it too close, it heats up too quickly and makes it bubble. I hold mine back aways. It takes longer to melt, but I have found that slower is better than fast for the end result.

It's not bubbling when I heat it. I sometimes bubbles when I impress the image into it. So it's bubbling up around the stamped image, no where else.

That is weird. I have done the faux metal technique several times, and it didn't do that for me. Have you tried using less layers?
