ENVELOPE BOOK HELP

I was browsing through Kim Wilson's wonderful wonderful wonderful uploads and was intrigued by the envelope book

and was wondering to anyone that has made these...HOW?
I can't quite figure out how you would use clear envies for this...I have the concept in my head and maybe it is just too early in the morning but it's not working itself out...any help would be great! I have TONS of clear envies and I knew that I was stockpiling them for a reason

Amy the Demo that did the book at regionals used the clear envelopes and cut the flap off. Use two pieces of cs as the covers and eyelets to secure together. the envelopes act like page protectors

so...with setting the eyelets through the envelope I am guessing that took about 1/2 inch of the envelope space?

You can also run stitches thru it with your sewing machine, I would make a few different signatures and punch small holes and tie them with ribbon or fibers, jute etc. Then you do not have the bulkiness of the eyelets at the spine of the book.
