Default The edges of 2" tiles

Ok all of you who make tile magnets and such using the 2' ceramic tiles...

I have resigned myself to the fact that the caulk is not going to come all the way off - the best i can get is so it is flat with the edges...

I am trying to make some holiday tile magnets to sell at a vendors fair and need to hide the edges...

I got some 1/4" tacky tape and beads and that works great (even if I do have to trim the tacky tape down)

What else can I do - I thought about some thin ribbon but I can't find any ribbon that is as wide as the edge - it is either to small or to large width wise - and the one that is "to small" would work but how to I adhere it???

Any help or suggestions

What about trying that foil tape used for stain glass? And what about just painting the side with a paint pen...

Default 2" tiles

I also need to find something besides beads to cover the outer edges. I'm thinking of trying some sculpey clay to make a border on them. I'll post if this works.

Default edges of 2" tiles

I haven't tried this yet myself (because I can never remember to pick some up when I go to the store) but, I have seen caulk remover in the paint section of Wally World. It comes in a tube like the Elmers' caulk if I remember right. I wonder if that would work?

Catherine

going to add it to the list now while I'm thinking about it.

Keri is right, the foil edging for stained glass works great and the copper color is beautiful. It comes with adhesive already on the back. I just sealed the end with Crystal Effects to keep it from coming up.
I have also coated each edge of the tiles with Versamark and embossed. Just make sure you hold the tile with pliers while you use the heat gun, the tile gets REALLY hot!

I used the zig painty pen after sanding down the edges as best I could. It made the tiles look like a million bucks. Ann

OK I will have to go buy a painty pen and see if that will work but I am intrigued by the stain glass foil - where can I find that?????
