Dream Weaver Template

I'm hoping someone can help me out ~ I own the 'peace on earth' dream weaver plate and it came back to me with dried up embossing paste in it. I'm not sure what the best way is to clean this - or, is it now garbage (I hope not) as I really love this stencil ~ can anyone give me some clues as to the best way to clean this up ~ thank you so much ~ [email protected]

Try Goo Gone. I use it for everything.

whatever you do. clean each side while stencil is flat.
hard flat surface.
nothing wrond w/ soaking stencil.
just be sure to dry well.
always store stencils upright. like books.

The paste is extremly hard to remove once dry. You might try simple green as this is one of the recommended products to use when the paste is still wet.

You could also try odorless mineral spirits but it may discolor the brass. You need something that will melt the paste.

The dried paste should not change how the template works, it's just not as pretty.

You might want to let the person know that when using the paste it's recommended that you have a container of simple green, 409, etc. at your craft table so when you are finished with the template, you IMMEDIATELY drop the template into the solution. Then the paste won't stick to the template. I use a tupperware container that is delegated only for this purpose.

I also coat my template with pure vegatable bar soap and this really helps to keep the paste from sticking (leanred this in a class).

thanks so much for all my replies ~ I did soak it in warm/hot water and gently worked a toothpaste over it ~ seems to have helped, Happy New Year Everyone!
