Default Crystal Effects . . . ?

Notice that when I use CE on am image stamped with Basic Black, the images gets watered out/bleeds out a little--enough that it's noticeable.

Do you always emboss an image before applying CE? I also heard some folks don't have the bleeding issue with Craft Ink, as opposed to Classic (dye). . . Do you emboss solid images??? If so, I'm curious as to why CE would even then be applied as that point . . . unless, of course, a higher loft/dimension is desired . . .

Hi Julie, I love to use CE, I have not noticed the bleeding with the black ink and I have never used it after I emboss. I love to use it with the Sweet Treats set color the topping brown add CE and it looks just like hot fudge yumm!!

Thanks--do you heat set your Basic Black at all, then, before using the CE?

I was trying to make a few page pebbles, and noticed it occuring and altho they weren't "unusable", I was disappointed in the loss of sharpness of the image lines . . . ! :?

I've only noticed bleeding if I use a color other than black or if the ink isn't all the way dry.

Here's what I was doing: Using an Alpha Accent Circle, stamped an image in black ink, colored it in with markers, then tried to create page pebble effect by covering ENTIRE surface of AA. That's when I noticed the bleeding occurring.

It doesn't happen when I accent a portion or small detail of an image stamped in Basic Black, probably because I'm applying it right up to the outline, but not crossing the line? but when I try to coat the entire surface of the paper the image is stamped on.

Aaah crikey--it just hit me I've had this conversation before with a fellow demo'r, and now I remember what we realized would resolve the issue for that particular situation!

Hit it with a quick dusting of fixative spray or Krylon Clear Sealer.

Lordy, hit 41 and all of a sudden, memory starts to fail . . . ugh.

Default Same here!

That's a great idea Julie. I've had the same problem with the black ink bleeding. I never thought of spraying it either! Great tip! Lana

I haven't had a problem with the CE, but the memory thing sure has hit hard!

Does anyone have any idea if CE would work on a glossy tile? I had posted earlier "Night owl HELP!" that I am having trouble with Sharpie ink staying on a glossy tile. I've baked it at 350 for 20 minutes and it still wipes off. I hate to spray it with sealer because I'm using this tile as a write/wipe message board. I was just thinking that maybe I could put CE over the colors. Or maybe TRY to just spray the sealer over the images and not in the empty "message" space. Hmmm.
