Default Cone pattern

I just was at a local crafty store and saw antique paper cones that hang from the tree and are about 8 inches long, anyone have a template? They were $9.95 so of course I did not purchase any!!! Just thick paper with fuzzy pipe cleaners to make a handle

Hmmm... This shouldn't be too hard to make a template. About what size were they?

If someone else doesn't respond, I can try to make a template this afternoon and post it on SCS.

Hello~

In the past when I've made cones I would just trace something round, cut it out, then cut the circle in half, then roll it up and decorate.

I have two different project sheets for making a "cone". I tried to post them, however, the files are too big apparently.

If you would like for me to e-mail them to you let me know @ [email protected].

I think you mean you make one cut to the center of the circle. Then slide the cut edges past each other to make the cone. You may have to use a round platter to get a cone that is 8" long.

They were about 8 inches long and the shape of the ice cream cones that are not flat bottomed. I tried the cones from the gas station but they were a little too wide on the top and not long enough.

Thanks sacramentostamper! I will have to try your way of making cones next time. I apologize for restating your instructions. I love learning new ways to do things.

Not a problem. That's the beauty of this site, being able to share/learn from each other.

I've attached a picture of a cone that looks like the one I made out of polymer clay so you can get an idea of what I was talking about. Let me know what you think.

That is an awsome cone!!! I have been avoiding the whole pasta maker deal, but.... it might have to happen some day especially if I keep on watching Carol Duvall.
The cone I saw was thinner at the top, but I guess I will just get out the circle cutter and start experimenting. They had just put the edges together and sealed without an overlap, so that one might take me a minute to figureout, but I am saving $9.95 a cone I will tell myself!!!

Kyloe~

The edges on the cone above are flush as well. I just used a reqular dinner plate as my guide then cut it in half.

I was going through some of my paper folding books and found a couple more patterns that I can scan and send to you if you'd like. Just give me the word...

Does anyone have a good idea for a beginner for pretty floral paper cones. Color for the wedding -- lilac. Need a ribbon to hang cones on the back of the chairs for a garden wedding. Sally
