Default Coloring Organdy Ribbon

Someone once told me that you can "color" the white organdy ribbon sold by SU by dragging it across a SU color pad. That seems simple enough...does anyone know how long it takes for the ribbon to dry before trying to use it?

If you color your ribbon first, make the rest of the card then use the ribbon you should be fine. That's what I have always done.

I cut up the sponges into quarters and use those to apply the ink to the ribbon. I think it looks great and have saved lots of money using lots of ribbon on my cards. I also do my ribbon first and then make the cards. This gives the ribbon plenty of time to dry. Have fun! Katie

If you are using the classic pads to color the ribbon, just make sure the card doesn't get wet... the color on the ribbon WILL run! :-)

Also, glue dots and mono don't stick as well to colored ribbon (at least the grossgrain. I haven't used any of the organdy yet...)

I color my grossgrain all the time and will probably do the same when I fianlly get some organdy!

I used a sponge dauber to color mine. It worked great on the narrow organdy ribbon!

When I color my ribbon, I simply place the piece of cut ribbon directly on my stamp pad, I pull the ribbon across the pad with my left hand while holding the ribbon down on the pad with my right hand over a piece of sponge I have cut down ---this way you color the ribbon but not your fingers so much

HTH!
