Default Brayer & Plaid Maker

Hi - I am pretty new to this site, so I hope that I am posting this question in the right forum. I recently received a brayer and the plaid maker stencil (SU) and I tried the brayer with the plaid maker and it doesn't work. I'm not sure if I am even doing it right. I was wondering if I should have ordered the foam brayer in addition to the rubber.

If anyone has some words of advice, I would greatly appreciate it!!!

Yes I use the foam brayer, it gets in all the cracks of the stencil. The rubber brayer doesn't give enough to fill in the color. Good luck...I have made some great papers with my plaid maker...love it!!

Default plaidmaker

You can also use a sponge with your plaidmaker. It takes longer but it does work until you can get your foam brayer insert.

I was wondering, if sponges work with it, could you also use the foam "rollers" you'd find at the hardware store that you'd paint with? I just got my plaidmaker and foam brayer (actually bought the holder for the brayer at AC Moore), and I am hoping to find time to try it out ASAP!

BFlostamper" re your ?? about the foam rollers in the hardware and craft stores...I was told that they are not the same as the foam rollers in the SU product line. The SU product line foam roller is very solid thru it's core. I don't believe the others are. HTH
