Default Securing Ribbon Question

I love adding ribbon to my cards...my question is when going width wise even though I tie it snug I worry about the ribbon not being secure when they take it out of the envelope I dont want it moving up and down so how do you suggest is the best way to secure it....glue or tape (I made some today and put a small piece of double back tape on both ends under it)...Please let me know the best way....Thanks

I like to use a drop of P.V.A. (bookbinders) glue or the red tacky tape under the ribbon. If you use the glue, put something on top of the ribbon for a few seconds for it to hold.

I have found that for me, one glue dot under the tie, and one on either end does the job.

Glue lines or glue dots will do the trick.

ATG or mono tape because its smooth and doesn't show through. Sometimes glue will show through ribbon so I use tape.

I found a way to add my ribbon without having to use anything to hold it in place.

I saw a Video on how to do this. and I love it. Here is the Video for the Stay put bow.

http://wannastamp.blogspot.com/2007/...log-candy.html

But when using a bow I will use Mono Multi Glue and let it dry. The Glue dries clear, and hold tight.

I like to use a pair of medical hemostat scissors to help me tie bows or knots. I put the ribbon where I want it, then pull the ends tight. I use a pair of hemostats right where the two ribbons cross. Then it holds them nice and tight will I tie a small bow or knot. Works great for me! For ribbon I want laying down I tend to use my ATG gun since it is the perfect width for 1/4 inch ribbons.

Thanks for sharing the stay put bow! I will have to try it!

I have also used the mini glue dots to hold bows in place too.

I don't usually need to put anything on mine as they are tight enough to not slide, but every once in a while, I will use a glue dot or two to hold it in place.

I use a small length of red line tape (sticky strip). It holds perfectly!

I use the red liner adhesive (Sticky Strip/Tacky Tape). It holds great, and I can cut it just the size I need for the ribbon. I'll have to try the stay put bow though.
