Red face Big Kick/Nesties Help

Hello all!

I broke down and bought a couple of sets of Nesties at HL on sale after seeing so many beautiful cards made with them.

I get how to cut out the shapes, but I still don't get how to just emboss with them. I am using them in my BigKick with the tan embossing pads, but whatever sandwich I use, I end up cutting out the shape.

What am I doing wrong?

The sandwich should be

Multipurpose Platform 1
Cutting Pad
Magnetic Placement Pad (optional)
Spellbinders Nestie - Blade side Up
Cardstock
Tan Embossing Mat or you can use the purple silicon mat from the texture starter kit
cardstock shim/s
cutting pad

and that should give you embossing and not cutting

This is what I did
Cut out:

White board that came with BK
nestie-cutting side up
cardstock
clear cutting board
rubber mat
black impressions pad

Embossing:
white board
nestie
cardstock
rubber mat
clear cutting board
3 cs shims
black impressions pad

Works like a charm
