I made a bunch and didn't sand them or spray acrylic on them and they are just fine. I haven't had any problems with the ink rubbing off.

Default dominoes

I don't sand but I use Staz-On ink and I love the finished look of something like Diamond Glaze on top. When I didn't glaze they seemed to look old very quickly. I make bracelets, so they get some wear.

I've never sanded my dominos. I use Staz-On ink, heat set and with regular SU markers with great results.

Are they glass or plastic ones? I only ask as I have just discovered alcohol inks by Tim Holtz in the craft stores. Awesome stuff.

I use the cheap plastic dominoes from Wal-Mart.

I either 1) stamp with Staz-On ink, heat set, and color with regular SU markers (heat set again). Finish off the sides with a nice gold Krylon pen (heat set again), and brush a good coat of CE over the top to give it a nice glossy finish. Let dry overnight.

or 2) use the alcohol inks as a background, then stamp with staz-on over the top (looks really pretty with nature stamps). Then I heat set, finish off the sides with a nice gold Krylon pen (heat set again), and brush a good coat of CE over the top to give it a nice glossy finish. Let dry overnight.
