Default Acetate

Is there a way to cover the tape marks on the back side of a panel when laying it on a clear piece of acetate?

Default acetate

there really is no way to hide the tape....you could use the xyron tape adhesive (rolls on in 1 sheet) but it may still show on the back. I use another piece of paper/cs the same size and put that on the back to cover what I did. It adds alot of layers, but it makes the card feel more substantial too.
Hope I clearer than mud???

If you are using the acetate as a card, with colored paper folded and inserted inside the acetate card, you can use a vellum tape runner along the back folded edge of the colored stock and carefully attach it to the inside of the acetate card. It barely shows and most people don't look that closely at that part of the card. You can also use the colored paper to write you "handmade by" info and it is easily seen when the card is turned over.

Default Try Zip Dry

Instead of using tape, try Zip Dry. It dries pretty clear, so if you cover the back completely it should be hard to "see". I really prefer the method of using a pp to embellishment to cover the backside, however.

generally if I am using acetate (or vellum) in my card making I use brads to hold it in place, then I can avoid any tape marks. Mind you I usually only use it as panels on the front of the card where I layer it on plan card which I can then stick to the front of my card if I don't want brads to show on the inside.
