Here we are in February already - January just seemed to whisk by for me. We are enjoying our first St Brigid's Day bank holiday here in Ireland, a new introduction to our holiday calendar. Technically her day is February the 1st, and is meant to mark the arrival of Spring, but certainly we go on with our wintery weather until April.
I spotted a fun card by Anita in the gallery a while back, and she was a sweetheart and created a pdf tutorial with imperial measurements for us, and also sized it down so that the main panel is a 5" square.
Here's her card that I spotted - F4A711, Gnome Autumn Party by snietje at Splitcoaststampers
The pdf is attached to this post and Anita has included imperial measurements.
*** I will say that both when I tried the original tutorial and Anita's (and she says it herself), you will need to manually trim the DP for layering onto those tall triangle panels, even if you use the measurements Anita gives. I think it's probably to do with the score lines taking up more space than a cut line. It was easy enough, or alternatively you could stamp those parts of the card instead of adding paper.
But, IF eyeballing things a little doesn't appeal to you and you still want to play along today create a gate-fold card but not a straightforward one.
Here are a few of our tutorials which feature a gate-fold with extras: Shutter Gate Fold Tutorials at Splitcoaststampers
Remember to use the keyword TLC989 when you are uploading. It's helpful if you come back and leave a link on this thread, especially in case you made a typo and people may not find your card.
If you're not sure how to link your card on the thread here, here's how:
1. Open 2 windows or tabs: one window for your card and one for this thread. 2. In this thread, click on reply and type anything you want to show before the link. 3. Go to your card window. Highlight the address for your card. (It says www. splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showphoto..... and so on) 4. Click EDIT. Click COPY 5. Go back to this thread. Click PASTE.
Thank you Sabrina for this fun challenge, I had fun making the tutorial and just as Sabrina said, making the dsp fit is really the most difficult part of this fun fold, for my baby card I've cut the pieces just as the base and then trimmed of a little from each , that is what works the best
