Happy New Year to you all. I hope you're ready for another year of fun technique challenges. I think our hostesses provided us with some super ones last year, and I'm hoping to have enough time to revisit some of them, and maybe even catch up with the ones I missed.
It's been so grey and dreary here mostly that I thought we would brighten the gallery up with some flowers - specifically, the
flower pot pocket card. which last featured as a TLC in 2009 as TLC215, if you like to use that as an extra keyword. I know some of you will have made it before, but after 14 years it should be new to a few!
The tutorial is here:
Flower Pot Pocket Card Tutorials at Splitcoaststampers
--> To fill the
greenhouse Technique Spotlight gallery with your blooms, make sure to choose Technique Spotlight from the first dropdown menu and Flower Pot Pocket cards from the second.
It's a long time since Stephanie wrote the tutorial using a flower punch, so feel free to plant your pot with die-cuts or even old Primas if you're trying to use them up. I am - but I felt the ones I pulled out were a bit too floppy, so I went back to die-cuts.
I don't think I've ever used the step of adding DP to the front of the pot. I did texture mine with an ef, though it doesn't really show in the photo.
I usually make mine free-standing by adding an extra piece at the back. I cut a strip 2" wide by 4 1/4" long, scored at 3/4" from the top and stuck it to the back - see photo below. If you're using ribbon, just make sure you attach it BEHIND the kickstand ;-).
add a hinged flap at back to make the flower-pot free-standing
**Top Tip: unless you want to make a custom envelope, keep an envelope under the card while you are arranging the flowers. If you overfill your pot with blooms, you might need a larger envelope.

Remember to use the keyword TLC932 (and optionally, TLC215)
when you are uploading. It's helpful if you come back and leave a link on this thread, especially in case you made a typo and people may not find your card.
If you're not sure how to link your card on the thread here, here's how:
1. Open 2 windows or tabs: one window for your card and one for this thread.
2. In this thread, click on reply and type anything you want to show before the link.
3. Go to your card window. Highlight the address for your card. (It says www. splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showphoto..... and so on)
4. Click EDIT. Click COPY
5. Go back to this thread. Click PASTE.
