I have a confession to make. I am a Pintrestaholic. Yes, I need a 12 step program... or maybe just a ONE step (get off the site!) LOL. But, there are so many inspiring photos! In fact, the challenge I bring to you today I found through my surfing of Pinterst.
~ Try THIS, or Try That ~
Actually, I am tossing out TWO challenges today. The first one is a fancy fold that I think you're going to love. And, if that seems a little too intimidating to you, I have a second... more tame... challenge.
Challenge A:
Cascading card... This fold was developed by Sonia Sellers @ Sonia's Crafty Patch. You can view the construction of the card HERE. YOU WILL WANT TO CLICK ON THE PHOTO TO ENLARGE.
***Please do not be intimidated by this fold. If you read the instructions carefully, it does come together quite easily!***
EDIT TO ADD:
Well our very own MariLynn and her brilliance has adjusted the instructions to use an 8 1/2 x 11" piece of cardstock. She has also made a video! Check it out on her blog HERE!
or...
Challenge B:
Double Vision... If you do not want to try the fancy fold at this time, I challenge you to create a card using the double vision technique. If you're not familiar with that, it is simply stamping your image/sentiment in one color and then stamping again in a complimentary color slightly off from the original color. You can see it in my card (I used that technique for my sentiment).
Better directions would be wonderful since they are blurry when I enlarge.
I'm not sure what browser you're using, but I've opened the picture in Google Chrome, Firefox and Safari. All three browser are clear as day. Let me see what I can do. We'll get readable directions for you!
I'm using a Mac and Firefox. Clicking twice makes the images plenty big to read, and they're still sharp. This looks like great fun. I'll give it a go tomorrow! Thanks, Holly!

I love doing fancy fold cards, so I gave the cascading card a try. It was not as difficult as it looked -- just very time consuming. I started it last night when Holly posted it, but didn't finish it until this morning. I'm going to give it to my BFF for her birthday next month.

I'm using IE -- and not a problem with clarity. I clicked the photo twice to enlarge the directions.
thanks for a fun challenge Holly and 2 options. I chose double vision today-but I am definitely going to try the fancy fold-your card is gorgeous-as well as the others I saw in the gallery. here is my card
I got so involved in the Cascading card part of the challenge I forgot about the Double Vision!! Oh well, I love the cascading card!! Its so much fun! Thanks, Holly for the great challenge!!
I decided on the cascade fold card. Thanks Holly for a great new fold. This will be very adaptable for a number of occasions. I spent a fair bit of time getting things all loined up but it was definitely worth it. Her is my "Cascading Love".
I'm a "day late and a dollar short" for the TLC, but I just wasn't inspired yesterday...BUT today, "double vision" seemed just what I needed for my winter's scene. Thanks, Holly!
OK, I found the directions, I'm going to try this this afternoon. It looks simple enough and there is so much area to decorate!! I'll get to use lots of my stamps and stash
There is also another page with a picture and some more written instructions. I think I cut mine wrong, but it still came together ok. I had to wait until daylight to take a photo of the card. Here it is:
*~*~Arleen~*~* "My friends, love is better than anger.
Hope is better than fear. Optimism is better than despair.
So let us be loving, hopeful and optimistic. And well change the world" --
Jack Layton (1950-2011)
For the Try a New Technique double image, I went with SU's-Tart and Tangy- with some coloring and ink daubing added. I added some texture with Cuttlebug's Halloween EF, and a colored brad, too. Here's Happy Fruit
