thanks for reminding me of this technique! i have the shapes cut out of chipboard and i had the ornaments cut with cricut and couldn't decide what to do with them. this is simple, but i like it!
No embossing machine, only Fiskars texture plates and embossing stylus. I got the same effect of the blank embossing by laying an oval cut out over the area, that I didn't want to emboss by hand.
If it will help anyone, here is the sandwich stack I used for the Cuttlebug, from the bottom up:
Plate A
chipboard frame (2 cereal box pieces glued together) embossing folder with cardstock inside
3 or 4 cereal box chipboard pieces
Plate B
(NOTE: cereal boxes are not all the same thickness, so adjust accordingly.)
AND -- for the Big Shot:
Multipurpose Platform at Tab 2
chipboard frame (same as above) embossing folder with cardstock inside
Cutting pad
Just remember every machine is different. If it feels too tight, take something out. I had to remove a plate B and replace it with several layers of chipboard for the cuttlebug.
Pretty in Pink
Well, it's possible to achieve the look with the Wizard and a stylus and a very sore finger .
Shame I botched the first attempt by trying to outline the Blossom on textured Bazzill, but I've posted it up beside my finished card.
Thanks, Lynn. Now I at least know that if I really, really want this look I can get it .

Thanks, Lynn, for the instructions on this pretty technique. I have wondered how to do this. I didn't get a card made tonight, but I experimented with the technique and finally was successful.
I used the cardboard that comes with DP for the chipboard. It apparently was not thick enough and my embossing was not sharp enough. So, I added a couple pieces of CS for a shim on Plate A. (Smooth Embossing)
When doubleembossing, my embossed CS was wrinkling. I solved that problem by using just one of the positive pieces rather than two on the Nestie. I hope this makes sense and I hope it helps someone achieve good results.
Thanks again, Lynn.

TLC245 Double Embossed Angel
HERE is mine. I love this technique and have actually done it several times before. I saw the technique on the Cuttlebug Spot blogspot. I love CAS cards so I added no embellishments.

Thanks for getting me to try this technique--very helpful and informative. It's late here (11:55 pm) as I write this, so I decided pretty late tonight to do this challenge, but I think it came out cute. Hope you like it!
I'm a day late, but it took me a while to get this one right. Thanks for introducing me to a new technique, Lynn. Here's my card -- TLC245 Pa Rum Pum Pum Pum by Clownmom at Splitcoaststampers I'm thinking I will do this technique again.
What a fun technique - thanks for the great links to show us how to tackle this challenge. I actually got a card made and uploaded thanks to this challenge!

Okay, I tried this by trial and error because the video is down and the alternate website does it alittle differently. I tried with my Bigshot but couldn't get it to work, so then I just dug out my cuttlebug and kept trying different plates and combinations until it sort of worked for me but I don't think I got it exactly right. However, Gallery at Splitcoaststampers is my first attempt, I will try again because I really like the results
Here is the sandwich for doing this on a Big Shot. I do it all the time.
Multi-purpose platform using all tabs.
Paper inside of embossing folder
Cardboard template
Clear cutting mat
