TLC205 Designing With Paper Pleats
Good morning everyone, Lynn is off having fun at CHA, and asked me if I would be guest hostess for this week… So please, be easy on me…
After going through all of the New Technique Challenges, and not seeing this one, I decided to do “DESIGNING WITH PAPER PLEATS”. Somewhere on your card, you will need to add paper pleats. You can use any kind of paper, but it has to be a paper pleat.
I found that if you use your ScorPal and score your paper every 1/2” for an accordion pleat, or every 1” for a box pleat, it makes it a lot easier to fold your paper.
I had to experiment on the length. My advice, make it long, you can always cut it off.
It also works better with the thinner weight paper. You will just have to experiment with this, also.
And for those crafty seamstresses out there, you can use your sewing machine on this.
There you have it - pretty easy, right? Okay, so let’s get those creative juices flowing.
I have made 3 different samples:
Thinking of You
Cheers
Thanks So Much

Looks interesting but I don't have a Scor Pal. Any suggestions on how to create these pleats for those of us who don't have a scoring machine?

That's what I get for not checking in early - I could have been having fun with pleats instead of doing all the housework, LOL. Off to play now - I like the sound of this .
Thanks for standing in for Lynn, Fern.

Thanks Fern! (I did look at everyone's pleats posted so far because I couldn't figure out what to do.....I usually don't look until I've made my card. I chose a pleated edge--now if I can just get to it!)

WOW! GREAT challenge...I have done this before, but always with a needle and thread..It usually lead to frustration, tears and yanking of hair...And that was just Speedy the Cat! LOL
So, I pulled the ol' sewing machine out of moth balls to do this challenge..Now I have to clean up the INCREDIBLE mess in my dining room...When I sew, it looks like a hurricane hit! LOL!
Here's today's submission

If you don't have a Scor-Pal, you can just use your bone folder and a ruler.. Hope that helps..

What an interesting technique! I tried it with vellum...bad choice for a first-timer I think. However, I think it turned out very cute.
What do you think?
I think I am going to try tonight to scrap the pictures that inspired this card of my daughter in her ballet recital outfit. I'll post it if I get it done.
Check it out on my brand new blog as well!
