MMTPT929 - May 12, 2026 - Spring Flowers for Vicky
Teapot Tuesday Challenge MMTPT929 Spring Flowers for Vicky
Anyone is welcome to play in the weekly Teapot Challenge - the more, the merrier! You automatically become a “TEApotter” the first time you play. Where will you find inspiration? Will it be from the teapot or from the challenge theme itself? Remember, your participation in Destination Station is 100% voluntary and not a requirement. Just have fun!
This week's challenge is brought to you by casep/Pat
CHALLENGE: Sabrina (Cook22) has suggested that we have a Tea Party for Vicki (Vickydee) who lost her husband to cancer in January. She has not said much about it, but I am sure she would like some cheery cards from her Splitcoast friends. Since it is spring, and the flowers are beginning to bloom, I would like you to include flowers on your card. And I know Vicky loves heat embossing, so extra cookies if you include that too. Scripture is also welcome.
in your upload and post a comment here so we can all see your card!
Do you know someone that could use some well wishes, encouragement or all around warm fuzzies? Consider nominating them as a guest of honor (a.k.a. destination station) for an upcoming tea party. Send your request to jennifrann via PM or e-mail [mail][email protected][/mail]Include SCS Teaparty Request in the subject line.

I'm getting ready for travel, so if I don't have time to make a card I'll send one from my stash. (I love flowers so I know I've made something appropriate recently.)
I haven't done a Teapot card for some time but took time to create today. Didn't do any heat embossing so no cookies for me (my doc tells me to avoid cookies anyway...)

Imagine my surprise at opening the challenge today and discovering that I am the recipient. Thank you all so very much. My day was full of appointments so I will work on the challenge tomorrow and add the card to my stash.
A bit of my/our journey: My husband, Tim, became ill and ended up in hospital while on vacation in May 2023. A few kidney stones were discovered and the medical staff did not look further. In spring 2024 he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and went through a lengthy surgery and months of chemotherapy. In February 2025, we were told that all tests came back negative, that there was no indication of cancer and he was declared cancer free. Yay! We beat this. We celebrated big time. Summer of 2025 was spent with follow up appointments, all of which showed him to be cancer free, and regaining strength. In late November the cancer showed up again and the only option was to start chemo again with the hope that it would slow the growth and we could squeeze in a couple of more years together. By mid January 2026 it was obvious that the chemo was not working and Tim was declining quickly. He passed at home January 31 at the age of 67. We had 45 years of marriage together and looked forward to retirement together. I take comfort in knowing that he is in a better place where he is no longer suffering.
Thank you all for your support. - Vicki

I do apologise for being MIA this week. I had an extra day in work and we've had a house guest since Monday. It's a beautiful floral gallery, it was lovely looking through it yesterday while I was baking and cooking.
