Hi Rita! Have i ever told you that you rock? OMG! Thank you for making one for Sol and his buddy! They will so so touched! i love the card you made, one for each!
I am not sure where to put this. My card to Eula was returned to me yesterday as not deliverable. I used the address in the Destination Station thread, and just double and triple checked the numbers. Did any one else have a problem? And I do not know why it took a month for this to be returned.
Dorothy, so far, mine hasn't been returned.
Being a retired Postal employee I can tell you why, a BIG part of it is the machinery. Oh, I could go on with stories just about what happens to my mail, but I won't bore you. I've had the same address for about 46 or 47 years!
I had the same thing happen when we did the challenge for Lydia's Mom. There was nothing wrong with the address. I put it in a new envelope and resent it.
The machinery will sometimes sort two pieces together, if the top piece is not yours, it will go with that piece. Say that top piece is a forward or ANK (attempted not known). Then when it is resorted as that top piece, it will get that yellow label on it.
The machinery is not perfect. It cannot think. It only does what it is programmed to do. This is where the human touch pays off, though we are not perfect either, but we can think.
If you can find the Joan Lundon piece on the Post Office that was done many years ago, look at the machine closely. These machines sort anywhere from 40k to 42k an hour. The machines that sort your magazines and business envelopes, sort about 14k an hour. This should give you an idea of what these machines do.
To any of you that really have an interest, if you live by a big processing center, ask for a tour. It's really quite remarkable!
I hope this helps you and anyone else that has problems with the Postal Service.
Oh yeah, even though you may write non machineable on your envie, that is not a guarantee that it won't go through the machines. If in doubt, send it in a padded envie. If you took the time to make a nice lumpy bumpy card, pay the extra to get it there in one piece! Even if you have it hand cancelled, that is not a guarantee that it won't go through a machine. My Dh is a mechanic that works on those machines, and you won't believe what he pulls out of them!

No problems with mine, or at least it has not been returned! Thanks Jennifer for the wonderful explanation......Since we have been using that same address for three years, I think Jennifer's explanation is probably pretty valid. I am so sorry you have to resend but I betcha it will get there the second time!
Thanks Jennifer for the nice explanation.....I think I will forward to the Teapotters...a very good thing to know, as much mailing as we all do!

Is any one else having problems uploading there card...I done the inside of my card with bats and a chiwawa (sp) dog on it. The dog is a pic of a lady's dog that lives in my bldg. the poor thing died not too long ago...He was the tinest thing too..
That has been going on for hours, Pat, and you can't comment either!! Not sure what is going on, but presume it is something they are aware of and working on now!

Hi, all, I have nothing to show and not much to tell - just want to let everyone know I will be back in a couple of weeks - in the meantime we are on the high seas - so no card making or sending for a while! There will be so many worthy destinations and I hope to catch up soon!
There is a card making class on board this afternoon - I will attend to see what they are doing LOL!!!
Ashley, what a cutie you have there. Love the photo with the reflection. Heck, love the other photo too! Darling little girl. TFS :0)

Ashley, good to hear from you...see you....wowza.....what a sweetheart little angel you have there....she is so precious! That picture of her laying by the water is a wonderful amazing shot. You need to get that blown up and frame it big time! She is so precious!

Tee hee! How funny! I suppose he does your coloring for you! Giggle! I need to get one of those...a coloring cat! Then when I come home from work, all my coloring will be done!
LOVE your stamper friend. I bet it makes your stamping all the more fun. I have a Rosco Dog that sits on my feet when I am stamping. Keeps me warm! hehe TFS :0)

Hello fellow teapotters! Thought I'd share a picture of my grand-son Cooper. He has a very clever mom I'll tell you. She strung stuffed animals on the ceiling fan giving Cooper a large mobile to look at. AND look he does, why just look at those eyes!!! What fun. Have a great day all! :0)
