Want to make a memorial candle of my grandma, and need to print a poem and photo if possible. I bought some regular Hallmark tissue paper and cut it to fit my home printer.
I figured out how to keep the paper from jamming, but the ink SMEARS really bad (yes, I tried both sides of the paper)
Any helpful hints? Is one certain printer setting better?
This may sound weird, but you may be using too high class a tissue, lol. Seems like I've heard that really really cheap tissue works better. I think Hallmark tissue paper has a coating on it, and maybe the ink can't dry as fast...
You might try using the "draft setting" on the printer. This won't lay down as much ink, or if you have a "transparent fade" function you could try that.

I took my poem to my husbands office, and has no problem with SMEARING on his printer. So I guess it was a printer issue, not paper or settings. Thanks for all your inputs. If candle turns out nice, I will post photo of it. Norskstamper
So how did you keep the tissue paper from jamming in the printer? I would love to try this for some candles I am doing, but I figured the tissue paper was too thin for the printer. Did you stick it down on a piece of regular paper?
