I have titanium, which he said I can have an MRI and go through metal detectors. I've been through metal detectors since and it did not set them off so I'm assuming he knows what he's talking about, but I'll be sure to let the technician know I have the titanium cage. I am also taking anxiety meds that morning because I get a bit claustrophobic.
OK. So go back to before the surgery and compare. Explain how it affects you, how it affects your ability to do 'daily living'. Can you bring someone with you? I get confused, then the pain kicks in if I am sitting there too long. I hope and pray they can find solutions
Happy mother's day to all you lovely ladies! My son thinks that I should get an off road capable vehicle and he should get something sporty like a mustang if we win the lottery! I guess I told him about the time I had the Jeep! Lol. Oh yes he gets to borrow the off road vehicle any time he wants to get out of the city. I should remind him of the times he took my car out and it came back caked in mud. Yup he went a bit off road to park the car in a field so he could get a clear view of the stars while laying on the hood! Kids!!
Big hugs all around
I know this is mean but I wish your surgeon would go through a month of what you are going through Kathy so he would listen to what you are saying. Hugs

Thank you, thank you Lynn. I received your lovely 'bloom and grow' card today. So pretty, with the butterflies.
Sorry ladies I have been off the bus for awhile. We've had 3 ladies of our church die in this past month. All were believers. The first was a dear friend who was 3 years younger than me. She was our Bible study leader, church library coordinator, and she and I performed vacation Bible school skits together for quite a few years. She also wrote the skits, so I will have a challenge to write them myself this year. Second to pass away was a 86 year old lady who was so warm and sweet. And the third one hit me the hardest. My neighbour Joanne, same age as me, died unexpectedly last Thursday. I have lived in her neighbourhood for 35 years. She was my Stampin' Up upline. She was so sweet and kindHer husband passed away in January, and now we will have a celebrstion of life for both of them together. Every time I go anywhere, I drive past her house, and think of stopping in. I still have not processed that she is gone.
This month also has 8 birthdays, for which I need cards. 3 done and sent/delivered, 5 more to go.
Gardening is also in full swing, so I have my hands full. I will catch up later.

Ina, so sorry for your losses. So sad to loose so many so close. It is so difficult to loose a close friend, my BFF has been gone for about 8 years; miss her still so much. Hugs
It is a good day. We has steak, about 4oz for me and about 2/3 of the plate with salad. All the veggies I could find. We had ice cream cake for dessert. We talked about furniture. His friend has the basics but is looking for a dining room table, we talked about where to hide the leaf for a table and where to put extra chairs. His friend has hearing aides so grumpy is talking about area rugs and wall hangings to absorb the sound. He says much better now that the curtains are up.
May 24 weekend is coming up. This year it is Victoria day is on the 20th. So why do I call it may 24 weekend.. because it is usually around that date and guys are getting their cases of 24 beer ready! It is usually safe to plant then. I have not been lucky trying to start some herbs indoors this year so I will be on the hunt. My balcony gets way too hot in the summer to do real planting but I can keep some herbs.
The anxiety meds made the MRI a breeze. I fell asleep just as they were bringing me out if the tube! Now I wait.
my jaw is getting worse. I'm afraid that tooth will have to come out in the near future. I would have just had them pull it, but the doctor said I have 100% chance if loosing feeling since it's on a nerve. I guess I figured if I waited long enough it might shift off the nerve.
What a night! Last night I had a dream that a friend and I were riding bikes (as kids) and a truck full of guys came along so we ran to hide. I had to tell to the friend to come inside to hide. When she finally came in she didn't shut hedoor. So I yelled what h*** friend? (I don't swear so hat alone was funny) But then I went over to slam the door shut and I fell out of bed for real!! I have a huge scratch on my upper left arm. DH jolted up out of bed and helped me get back into bed. I laughed so
Hello everyone. Lynn, I waved at you last evening from the DVP. We (my daughter and I) were on a bus heading for union station. The bus sat on the Gardiner for 20 minutes before we could turn into the station. Then onto the subway up to Bloor, then a 15 minute walk to the church where my gandson's orchestra was playing. We made it in time for the last of 4 pieces they played. But we did get to sit in the room where they had a private lesson from their director's former professor at the University of Toronto. It was all part of music fest.
Afterwards we stopped for dinner before getting back on the subway to union station to catch a train back to aurora. It was a great bonding time with Rocky (grandson) he turned 12 this week.
I am being lazy this morning, enjoying the beautiful gardens at the Newmarket Inn. Then back home to lots more gardening. Have a great weekend everyone.

Kathy I dreamt I needed to go to the bathroom and all of them were broken. Yup running around holding my pants like a little kid. Then I wake up and yup need to run to the bathroom! Lol
I am sweating!! My ac hose just came in. Unfortunately my hands aren't working well enough to put it together, it is about 6 inches across. My living room is 30c with 60% humidity. I do have fans going. I see another shower in my future! Lol
My son stopped by and fixed my ac! Woo-hoo! The building is turning off the heat on the 22. The next day the weather changes and goes back down to spring Temps! Grumpy is preparing and painting his kitchen this weekend. It is about time I can say to you. No clue when I can get his help to do my carpets, it may already be too late. Uuggh... I used to be able to do this stuff by myself. This getting old thing socks! Uuggh
Hugs

Sharon, I am here and doing well. JUst so swamped with end of school activities and so forth. Busy as when I was teaching I think.
Did attend a get together of about 14 of those on the last summer's trip to the Snowy Range..Our fearless and forgetful leader applied for and was accepted as a presenter for a Virtural "HIKE LIKE A WOMAN! PROGRAM. Her part was to be aired at 6 pm on Friday. so those of us who could gathered at the farmsted of one of our hikers and had a fun weekend celebrating!
Then my fridge decided to die a painful and slow death....its replacement is to be installed this coming Thursday. I went old school and have no ice maker or cold water in the door on this model ....That will suit me fine as a sack of ice from Sonic or the Grocery lasts me about two weeks and if I am planning on company I will just buy more before they arrive. I also cut down on the cubic feet of storage --the drying one was one that did everything but the laundry because the DH said we would need it with the grands. Well, I hated it from about the second week of having it and now, 12 years later I will have one that doesn't need expensive filters every 4-6 months, has twice the freezer space of the original and easy to adjust shelves that are also easy to clean. School finishes for my 4 young ones on Thursday and so I am busy making plans for activities and signing them up for Swimming lessons and so forth..

I miss back to school shopping! It was always fun shopping for supplies even though they probably didn't really need new things! What I do now is take a shopping list from church and buy as much as I can for the kids less fortunate. The group is called Bob's buddies. It was started by a man and his wife. He was very good with children. After he passed they began this group. They used to also have people donate clothes but they aren't doing it this year. They also used to bring in a few volunteer hairdressers who would give free haircuts. I'm not sure if they're doing that this year or not. But they are looking for new school supplies like backpacks, pens pencils, paper, notebooks, even toothbrushes and things for personal hygiene. I try to buy a backpack for boy and a girl and then everything on the list for each backpack. I really enjoy doing this. It's about as much fun as I had when I was on the committee for the women's group. The committee would give me the money and send me shopping to put baskets together to give to women. I loved putting those baskets together.
That is a great idea Kathy! I have done stuff here and there. I remember making slippers for the women's home. Something that was their's when they came off the streets. Grumpy is getting rid of some old furniture and he is gonna put it in his lobby. He says there are immigrant families in his building. My thought was the school. I got a bunch of mugs at a rummage sale that went to his lobby and they were gone within hours. I am not certain but I think we have 3 families from the Ukraine in my building. Things here go in the laundry room.
Wow, Pansy! Amazing! You are so busy with the grands! They are keeping you young! About the fridge: my husband always says the more fancy things that something has, the more that can go wrong with it! Same with cars. LOL
The heat has been turned off and the weather is more seasonal. All good! I brought food to my son's place and I am not as worried. He has these.. spells.. I don't know what to call it. His body just goes into basic functions only. Yesterday we were eating and he basically became a zombie. Even eating seems too hard. He goes through so many calories in a day that if he doesn't keep up with eating then he shuts down. Then it tak3s hours to get going again. He is not diabetic. He says when he goes camping with the boys, he is the only one without a daddy gut at the end! Lol when he was young, he would say he was full. I would pull up his shirt and see the little bump in his belly and know it was OK. Lately he has been caring for 4 households and it is adding up. His, mine, the friend that has his first place and the girl who finally got her ex out.
I slept last night! They have been doing construction on the overpass near me and it can be really noisy at night.
OK I found my quilt and I am wearing wool socks. I don't know if I should do the heating pad or throw
I am so giggling. My son just showed up. He locked himself out of his apartment but not his car. He just came over for the set of keys I have. his phone is in his apartment! Lol... poor guy is having a Lynn day. Then again my neighbor lost his keys in the laundry room and came to borrow mine. I am useful! Lol!
