Good morning all. It's the first Thursday of the month and our challenge is brought to you by our secret challenge hostess. It is so secret, even she does not know it! Our first challenge is to guess who it is, as she suggested it. Secondly make a card saying something nice, or even more than nice (amazing, fantastic, etc) and actually send the card.
I have a dear friend who is travelling to New Brunswick today to start the last decade (or more) of her life. At the age of 87 she, her husband and her son are moving to a house overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. We had a physically distancing farewell for them on Sunday. 21 people showed up and they were overwhelmed. I spent an hour on the phone with her on Monday evening, and she is very apprehensive about the journey there. So I am planning to shower her with cards.

Oh oh I so want strawberries! You all know I am weird.. Right! Well every year when our local strawberries are ready I go out to get some from the farm and find I have eaten them all on the ride home! But..and you know there is a big butt somewhere!! But I can only have a few and must wait a day or two in between.
So my class is started, summer of sketches. My stuff???? UPS finally picked it up from Studio Calico and brought it to IL, USA and dumped it in the mail system. I was looking forward to trying out a travelers notebook...but alas it is in the mail some where... Maybe over the rainbow
Lynn Lynn is our mystery hostess this month....yay. Another one to add to the list.
Lynn, I hope that you get your mail soon. I love travellers notebooks.
Happy weekend everyone...I need to keep moving and not get bogged down on this site LOL

Ladies, Ina has a list of all of the monthly challenges so far on page 1 on this thread. I had forgotten what they all were and I’m sure we can combine them with some other challenges. Check them out. Thanks Ina

Great idea Lynn! I forgot what this chat post was all about. I need to get back to making cards for monthly themes. I started keeping track of cards made and sent, but with my usual ADHD I stopped after 2 months. DOH What a ding dong.

I find this thread is very supportive! There is a challenge and yes Ina keeps the first page updated even though she has country internet. City internet is just as bad with everyone being home!
OK who is gonna explain using a travelers notebook to me while I wait for mine to show up?
Sorry. I should have explained. I have only seen a travelers notebook on the computer. I was hoping to do a kina.. Adventures of Lynn thing. No real clue as to size or anything. Lately I am too busy trying to rip my eyes out from all the allergies...uugghh.
OK. I think my first thing to put in my notebook will be my little container gardens. Actually thinking of adding another one since I have room. I also don't think I will be going out as much as I thought this month. City still shut down or should I say no places with bathrooms open, so I don't want to be out too long
Lynn, there’s lots of videos on YouTube showing how to use a Travellers Notebook. I take them travelling with me. The size is 3x11 I think...maybe wider although I have seen some 6x8. You use it as you wish...journalling, scrapping, whatever. I like the fact you can insert “signatures” if you have purchased the one with the elastic in the middle. You just slot and change the papers. Have fun with it.
I’m popping on briefly. Poppets popped in for a while on their way back from having had a drive out into the hills. Life is starting up again here today. There are protests happening in most States this weekend and our Health Minister is asking they protest from home and especially in States where there are still cases. I liked the fact that in some US States they did their protests from home/work rather than all together. So much more responsible during this crazy time.
Ok, I am getting off and going to do something in my craft room. I am feeling anxious today and need to distress. Happy day

Here’s my card for Lynn’s challenge...I’m working backwards. I just have to put a message inside and will then decide who to mail it to. I hope it meets the challenge Lynn. The sentiment was from my Kindness stamp set.
Inside I will stamp...either you are Amazing or you are Awesome.
I needed to make this today...my mood and anxiety levels have been up and no idea why. Craft always soothes me.

When you say thank you, you also say nice words about the person too. You are either thanking them for a gift or for something they did. Hope it works. Thanks for Looking!
Woohoo! Grumpy was here and gave me a trim!!!!! Oh that feels so much better!
Grumpy tried some of the greens from my garden and says it tastes good. Cat has already been grazing but she doesn't eat much of the grass in one sitting. This will be the 3 time I have cut the grass.
Completely lost my train of thought again. I think we are in for a heat warning for today and tomorrow. So crazy people like me should stay in and no doing cartwheels in the halls!
I don't do cartwheels in the hall. I just do them in my head! I would break something if I even tried. Either furniture or a hip! LOL. Send grumpy down. I want a hair trim soooo bad!
Grumpy is a smart boy...oopps.. Man! He learned to cut his own hair when he got the apartment. When my hair was waist length I could cut it myself! Now, about every quarter, I go to the barber shop and get it cut straight at the shoulders. I don't go to a salon, they smell sooooo much! Also, I don't want any product in my hair due to the psoriasis.
Sweet pea has been asking grumpy to cut her hair but I think he is afaird to do something wrong. He would rather her friend come and do it.
I'm back. So I said I was a mess. Or as I told my son, I was too stupid to notice the Cole slaw was off! Oh well. Such is summer! Lol
So how is everyone?
I didn't have to taste my cole slaw to know it was not fit for consumption. I left it out last evening and I don't have air conditioning. There was only 1 serving left, so it's all good. Lynn, you didn't get sick from it, did you?

Can't stay out very long around here. The mosquitos are so bad this year. Bites never used to boother me very much, but it seems I have developed worse reactions this year. Swelling, heat and ITCHY!

Well you can't find alcohol or swabs to stop the itching! Uugghh Ben's has a high deet level. Though I do have to scrub hard to get rid of it. I tend to wear protective clothing for the sun and the bugs.
So the positive is that my garden is inside and no bugs.
Sally I keep wanting to tell you how much I loves your cards! I look at the cards.. Ohh ..ahh..say what creatively.. Drool.. Go get a tissue and forget to say anything, I'm sorry!
