I totally forgot to add scrap pages and journal pages to my list, I'm still trying to find a way to keep track, I tried doing it on my iPad but I lose signal upstairs so by the time I went downstairs I had forgotten half of what I'd done.At the moment I've ruled off an A4 sheet with headings
My Christmas card list has been depleted a little in the last couple of years, Quite a few were just acquaintances from football but we exchanged Christmas cards, now they've gone back to the uk we don't have any contact, mind you a good job or else it would cost a fortune in postage!
another question...I am not certain if I should be scrapbooking for my son any more...I think his GF is great...but what if they split...do I rip all the pages out?
Lynn that reminds me of my youngest sister, her boyfriend went on holiday with her and my parents when she was sixteen, dad had the old movie camera and took films of the holiday, when they fell out she made my dad splice off all the parts with her boyfriend in it, we thought it was hilarious as there couldn't have been much left of it at the end.
see with the last GF I did pages but I did not glue them down in the book...said I had run out of glue!!! But this GF is very different and they have tons of pics but I don't get to see the pics like I used to. At Christmas dinner ...grumpy took a pic of dinner to send to his GF...she is just so Korean...LOLOLOL
Finish each day and be done with it.
You have done what you could;
some blunders and absurdities have crept in;
forget them as soon as you can.
Tomorrow is a new day;
you shall begin it serenely
and with too high a spirit
to be encumbered with your old nonsense.
- Ralph Waldo Emerson
Lynn I love that, ran out of glue, that's a good one. You know on Facebook ours sons friend constantly posts photos of plates of food that he's eating, why???
I just got back from gym. Good en to the year. Did my 2 miles on the treadmill and my 3 sets of 12 on 8 machines. Makes me feel good.
Also tried to start my year thru Bible reading plan on the Olive Tree app on my iPad and the program crashed. I am thinking my iPad is too full. I have too many videos from our trips, on it. Hate to delete them. :(. But it is not like I can't do it on a real Bible! LOL
We are going out to eat after we listen to our local college basketball team on radio. They are on the tv , but an ESPN we don't get.
Anyway, after that, DH will watch football the rest of the week end and I hope to begin crafting again, although I did do a teapot challenge card, yesterday.
Jan I don't know...the GF takes pictures of everything...when my son and I went to Blue Mountain we did crazy selfie shots for her and she loved it...yes she has a selfie stick...grumpy takes great shots...but now it is all shots to send his GF...things change
I am thinking my iPad is too full. I have too many videos from our trips, on it. Hate to delete them.
Don't delete them! Transfer them to a different computer AND a backup drive.
I keep my photos on two hard drives. One drive is in an older computer that doesn't get much use. The other is an external hard drive that my son gave me. I learned the hard way to always, always keep irreplaceable electronic media in two places.
It would be even better if I back up a hard drive two or three times a year and stored it in a safety deposit box. I think scanning all my paper photos (20-35 year old pics of my kids) and putting them on a hard drive to store in a safety deposit box will be yet another goal for 2016.
I will mostly be alone and asleep when the new year rolls in. DH is at the cabin yet, although he's coming home tonight. But he will come home, fall asleep on the couch, wake up to go to bed and then leave before I'm awake in the morning! Both DS's are going out tonight. I'm used to being alseep when the ball drops, so it isn't anything major and I thought DH was staying at the cabin overnight tonight, but he needs clean clothes LOL.
I guess I should be mapping out a new year plan for my life. I am planning on the new year being much better than in the past. I'm tired of whining, I'm tired of aching, I'm tired of not sleeping, so I need a plan!

I did that Melissa, took me ages to scan them all but I have them on discs now.
Lynn my eldest takes loads of photos but never sends them to me, I've already told him when the baby arrives I expect at least one per day!
I've got iCloud on my PC it automatically transfers my photos from my iPhone which is great. I do transfer some to CD to keep still.
I spent the afternoon printing new photos as we've just bought two photo frames with multi holders, I had to resize them all as the frames are 6x4.
We are staying in, already in our dressing gowns and I doubt we will stay up as eldest is away and youngest won't ring because of the time difference, we will ring tomorrow.

Pick up one of those cheapie $1-2 pocket calendar books or a notebook and keep it at your crafting table. When you finish something, mark it in your book. If you get one small enough, you can probably tuck it away with your stamp pads or on another shelf within arms reach.
I bought two of these little sketchbooks when Michaels. (about $2.50 each with a 40% off coupon): Fabriano EcoQua Notebook, 5.8" x 8.25"
They have only 40 pages but I think they are nice little books for the price.
In one, I am in the process of gluing pages together (to make 20 thick pages) and plan to use it as an art journal. If I like the size and shape, I might spring for a Moleskine Sketchbook as my next journal.
The other I'm using as a planner book. No decoration, just to-do/did-do lists. I'm drew lines to make it a two-page spread for a one-week vertical layout, similar to the Erin Condren planners -- only smaller, not as fancy and at a fraction of the cost. Then I splurged and spent $5 on three Pentel Frixion erasable pens to use with it. (I saw Jennifer McGuire use these) I am amazed. The ink does not smear like the pencil I was using, and it erases very well when necessary.
I am planning on the new year being much better than in the past. I'm tired of whining, I'm tired of aching, I'm tired of not sleeping, so I need a plan!
Me, too! I told my son that I am sick & tired of being sick & tired.
That is why I made my planner. In it I will list simple things like taking my vitamins (doc said I should take them to boost my immune system), craft goals, appointments, household chores.
I will use the planner to improve my life but have vowed not to beat myself up if I don't get everything done as planned. I've learned that beating myself up only knocks me down. 2016 is about improvement, not perfection.
I think I already said...a month at a glance and a week at a glance business planner...cheap... and am using my small stamps...I am busily planning reoccurring things in January...have ink everywhere
so I go out to get veggie pizza...I park in the disabled spot...this old guy is looking at me...he must be thinkin a sweet young thing like me can't be disabled...then he sees the cane...spell is broken...off he goes...LOLOLOL
oh oh what was that.... oh oh ...from the Christmas challenge...mark a date on the calendar and call it something to remind yourself to make Christmas cards
my photos are all on my computer...I spent quite a bit of time and digitized all my photos...I have an external backup ...my son has a copy of everything at his place... it is just the pics with this GF that I don't have many of...I will have a talk with him and have him tell me how he wants to continue with the scrapbook
I bought a little notebook from joanns, thought it was a book to write recipes in as it had pots and pans on the front! I could use that to list items in.. I have a thing about saving recipes even though I don't do the cooking any more, I go through them every so often and throw some away, I always kids myself I might use them!!
I use my smash book to do scrap pages in and I bought a cheap journal to do mixed media, not very successfully I might add but it's something I've always wanted to try, among others things.

Cabin is only 15 minutes away. I don't go because he goes hunting all day and I'd be all alone at the cabin. Just as soon be all alone at home where I can get some laundry done and cards made!

I'm going off to a party...........my painting buddies and some other families. It'll be a wild time of drinking and dancing (NOT!) with my Baptist friends.

For the past few years I've had an annual song, too! Warning, my taste is a bit different from most other women my age. It ranges from Garth Brooks to U2 to Tim McGraw, Phil Collins and early Van Halen. But for the past few years my all-time favorite has been Social Distortion. I think it is mainly because the music is raw the lyrics are down to Earth.
In 2014 and 2015, my theme song was Social Distorition's Winners and Losers that asks, "Which one will I be today." It was my mental & physical health recovery song, and its chorus was my cell ring tone: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rCAvjzj-c9Q
In 2016, my band is still Social Distortion, but the song is Diamond in the Rough. My son promised to help me change my ring tone to its chorus this weekend: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ssZOK7ozde4
Happy new year. I fell asleep before midnight but woke up and still awake. Son had too much to drink so his friend drove him home. DH and I went and got his car at 2 a.m! He is now snoring on my couch and I'm just now going to try to sleep.
Happy New year everyone, we didn't stay up but heard the fireworks, sounded like they were in our garden.
As for songs, i do like Adele but I still listen to the beach boys, Tamla Motown, etc when I'm crafting, reminds me of my teenage years, LOL, I tend to stand up to craft so find myself having a boogie! Good job the neighbours can't see me!!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!TO all of you. May 2016 be one of joy and laughter, good health and lots of family blessings. I appreciate all of my beautiful friends here on SCS

Learnings for the new year...now that I only have cotton...well I just can't do more than a load of laundry at a time...every surface in my apartment...every doorway...has clothes drying from it! LOLOLOL
Melissa love your song choice...me I listen to anything but rap...it is funny when I put my iTunes libray on shuffle...Frank Sinatra...Lenny Kravitz...Carpenters...Classical...Beach Boys...ACDC
so I am going to be good today...I am meeting my friend at a Greek restaurant...greek salad and grilled chicken for me
Boy is it windy out there!! I actually had to close my bedroom window last night...I was chilly...it is so different living somewhere where I don't control the temperature...the building is set... if we get sunshine my apartment warms up more... if I am hot I open the window a bit...but if it is overcast and windy I need to close all my windows and put something warmer on... I think I have mentioned this before...my friends called my house the FRIDGE.. they would come over and keep their winter coat ON
Happy New Year! Boy, have I missed chatting with all of you!!! Spending 95% of my time at the BF's as my job is closer to his house than mine. No internet there as it is too expensive and way too sketchy to be worth it. I did buy a hotspot to use there and the cell signal is so bad, it won't even connect there. If I get off work on time, I can get to the library and use theirs for a few minutes before they close. So, I have missed checking in and keeping up with what is going on with all of you. I hope every one is starting the year happy and healthy. If not, I hope you all get what you need in the coming year to find peace in your current situation.
Wiping the slate and starting with a $0 balance for the new year. I did much better at keeping track in 2015 than I had in previous years. Didn't update what was in my siggie, but using a checkbook register made it portable and there fore more conveiniant to have at hand and keep current.
I am totally tired of knowing I have something and not being able to put my hands on what ever it is in the disaster I call a craft room. The mess has also taken over my dining room table. Spending today and tomorrow getting a START on bringing order out of chaos. It will take several weekends, but it will never happen if I don't start now. I have two boxes ready for putting purge stuff in. Having a hard time letting go of stuff, but experiance tells me, if I don't love it, I won't use. No point in keeping the stuff I bought to use for projects I thought I would make for other people. I don't have time to make stuff I want to make, let alone things for other people, and the sad truth is, most people don't appreciate the time or $ put into hand made items. So, getting off the computer and heading to the craft room. Hopefully will be able to check in later when I take a break.
Hey Angie, so good to see you over here, sounds like all of us, keeping stuff we won't use, must admit I've been having a clear out of cards started and abandoned,Malays think I will revise them but rarely do,ha,ha I know what you mean about some people not appreciating the time money spent, etc, I don't bother making such people specials, just send them cards out of my stash !
Anyway pleased you are keeping well and look forward to seeing you around this year
sooo...the best of intentions! I head out to meet my friend...driving along a busy street...this guy is nonchalantly walking at a crosswalk on the RED...I don't think he even realized until I honked at him! got to the restaurant...it opens for dinner..had a cuppa and came home...7 cop cars and an ambulance...what did I do...I wasn't even home...I will find out eventually
