Welcome Jan!! You will have a lot of fun with this group!
Today starts a new chapter in my life regarding my working outside of the home. I have been working full-time (mainly OT 60 hrs a week) primarily in accounting for 38 years (oops- giving away my age :-))
My full-time employee has purchased another business and has re-located to Sterling, VA- I have chosen not to commute, so starting today I will be working part-time from home until they can transition someone else into the last portion of my job. They have already hired a gentleman to do a third of what I was doing and delegated the other third to two other existing employees.
I am looking forward to staying home and being able to organize, clean and purge!! I have to be careful not to get too caught up in stamping that I do not work on the house :-) We do not have children but do have two beautiful kitties who are so excited that "mom" is staying home with them- they being with me and love my craft room!
Today I have an excuse to be in the craft room since I need to finish up some Valentine matchbook covers, etc. for our Awana church ministry (approx 15 boys for my husband (3rd grade) and 25 girls (5th and 6th grade) for me)) We love working in Awana and hope that we do not get too much snow that will call off our evening...
Thanks for listening!! So glad to have such a wonderful group of ladies to share with and I hope all of you have a great day!
Congratulations on your new adventure in life! It sounds like a good change.
I know AWANA! I was a SPARKS leader (1st and 2nd gr) for years. My DH was Game Director for a time and all our kids were involved. It was fabulous. I still know so much Bible verses I learned as a result of helping the kids.
I know about cleaning and purging, too. I've been doing that for a year or more and our home is getting so cleaned out. My craft area has become much more manageable as a result. It was fun to find things I thought I had gotten rid of and also find things I needed to get rid of. Enjoy!
Thanks for sharing. Have a lovely day. It's a gift, that's why it's called the present.

Thanks Diane! We have been involved in Awana for 15+ years now (3 as leaders and 13 as Directors) and we love it!! So nice to know that we share this as well as stamping!!
Thanks for sharing Julie and enjoy your new adventure..... It is such a good feeling to get things done that you have wanted to do for so long.....
Seems like a lot of people are taking over what you have been doing.... Seems that happens a lot.!!!!!
Thanks Marion! Yes, I did handle a lot of different aspects of the job and since they do not want to hire additional people, they have to split the duties. Plus the corporate office is over an hour away from my office location and they did not realize exactly how much work I did do :-) They are aware now :-)
Welcome Jan! Glad to have you aboard the looney train heading for craft island! WooWoooooo. I am the keeper of the points since I keep such good spreadsheets! LOL

Julie, our church just started Awana.
It is a wonderful program and the kids love it!! We have thoroughly enjoyed serving- it is a very rewarding part of our lives :-)
Julie I am so jealous I have twelve years left until I can retire....
Dea
Well, I am not officially retired although I wish :-) We have a home that we desperately need to get ready for the market to sell so I will be taking a hiatus from working to prepare this home for sale but first I need to make room for the things that we want to keep in the home we are living in now...very complicated :-)
With the job market the way it is, I may be retired though :-) I still have my SU! business but I have been primarily a discount/hobby demo for 13 years (reason that I need to organize so much since I have never sold any of my retired sets:-)) but I have always wanted to do classes, etc. and never had the time. Maybe this would be the time to do so- once I create enough room :-)
Good evening ladies! I am here ...I think...I don't know anymore....
Anyways...you are all doing a great job and making this a wonderful challenge!
Just a note...I will not be connected for almost a day between the 1 and 2 of March for my move. My computer will be the last thing packed into the car so it does not get lost or stolen. So I want you guys to wreak havoc while I am gone!! YES!!! go crazy...have a snowball fight...have a mashed potato fight...I want to have pages and pages to catch up on!
That's okay. No problem. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one mixing up names. ;) It's so easy to do with everyone having two names ~ SCS name and first names.
Julie I'm not sure you will want to every go back to work after taking time out, I finished work twelve years ago when we moved out here and the days just fly by, and so much more time for crafting !
Here is my card for the challenge, its hard to see but the front two flaps open up and the front of the card lifts up too, if youd like to see the original take a look at the link below.
no prob....There were 6 of us growing up so got used to being called different names....Mom would get so upset at times she'd just yell, "All of you, just stop it" LOL!!!!
Happy Heart Day to you all....
Love all the card that are coming in.. What a great bunch of new and different ideas which is very inspiring.
Today I am going to do some more crafting.. I need to do some masculine cards for my stash and I would like to get some note card/ gift card sets made up to just have on hand....
Loving all the chatter , meeting some new people and just seeig all the great cards.. Have a great day
I think this is about the time that Lauren moves, is it not// Has anyone heard from her. Hope she is well.
Here's my card. I adapted the Sketch Challenge to do a fancy fold on the front of my card. There are three postings to show my card closed, opening and fully open.
