Holy cow, Jayne, WOW, I am SO far behind on commenting! I can’t believe you found a time slot to do that, thank you so much for all your wonderful comments, my friend.
I watched day three of 102 last night. Be careful, he talks about what all you can do with Distress glitter products. I found myself ordering a 3 oz container of the glitter on Amazon at 11:30 last night, clear Rock Candy. It was not expensive at all, but still... dang it, I have to stop!

Day 1 and 2 I wasn’t real impressed with. Hey, I went to Hobby Lobby with the intention of buying the gel plate. None in stock whatsoever and even the Tim Holtz products were running thin. The store must be getting ready to restock. Anyway, I found the gel plate on their website and can still use a 40% coupon on it. DH told me to go ahead and order it, because with the slowness of the mail right now, it may be close to October before the thing arrives!
Was my Thursday Tip okay, ladies? I can’t find my sheet of paper that I made my notes on!
Has anyone ever used the Dina Wakely products or images? I found a book with images to cut out and use. She sure does have some odd ones.

Jean, my DH had a motorcycle. I rode with him a few times. I loved it, as long as he was being careful, but all guys need to show off. We have a friend who had a bike and they'd go out together. But you know how Wisconsin weather is, right, and he wasn't a diehard biker, so he didn't ride it all that much. And then, when he wanted to take it out, couldn't get it started or some other engine issues, simply because he hadn't ridden in awhile. Eventually he sold it.
I know Joe would wear a helmet but you're right, short window of time to ride here in this neck of the woods.

Dina Wakely paint is marvelous.

Thanks to Melody for her suggestion about labeling the threads, that's why I figured out what was what.
I'm heading to my creative dungeon (basement) to work on MIX and my first MMJ or whatever we're called.
Thanks for all the tips, everyone. I've just spent 3.5 hours on the computer and accomplished nothing. Hah, story of our lives. As the sands in the hourglass.....

Kandie...Dina Wakley and Dyan Reaveley....don’t ask lol. I have some real snarky paper wierd stuff of Dina Wakley and her scribble sticks, face and people stamps, plus two of her books that I have hardly looked at. I have Dyan’s paints..some, her book and quite a few of her wierd stamps and die cuts. I got Gracie onto her stamps..don’t look. You will be bankrupt lol. It’s never ending. I watched lesson 2 on stencils last night before I nodded off..fortunately I have a lot of stencils and a lot of his lol. I am not buying anything else..I am not buying...I am not buying. I do not need LOL

Melody, I followed your instructions, thanks for making them so clear! I used to have a blog and knew how to embed and all kinds of stuff but I have long since forgotten how to do it. However, even using my regular laptop and trying every tip I could find in a search, I cannot get the video itself to show up in a post like so many of you can do. It aggravates me! But thanks to you, now I can put a link in under the title of my cards!

Jayne, the books I bought are Dina Wakely images that can be cut up and used in projects, and I’m wondering if those are what you have too? Her paints look nice and bright. No desire (yet) to buy them, though.
On the other hand, ladies, I got an email from Ranger advertising their new products, and, you guessed it, next thing I know I’m placing an order! Oh my oh my oh my. I love the Stampers Anonymous stamp pages that can be put in a binder.
I watched another journal video last night that I’ll be trying today! What is everyone else working on? And coming up soon on the 15th, two new videos on the challenge thread!

And posting here as well for all of you that have done the same thing! I finally figured out how to use the Dina Wakely images...
THIS is what happens when you start out with a lovely tissue flower and glue it to a journal page, use the products used by the hostess in a video, decide you want to add a few black splatters - and accidently RUIN IT!!!!!
Lots of white acrylic paint smeared on, cut out a couple Dina Wakely images to cover the worst of the ruined areas, stick Washi tape anywhere, color swear words and glue them on, turn out the light and say FORGET IT, I’m going to go each lunch! Lol

Kandie yes I have the Dina Wakley ones you cut up and some papers. Only used a few as large images.
I was hoping to work on my paper towel and also tape cards/tags but ran out of time. Look forward to the 15th..even if I’m not here lol.

Hi Kandy, Jayne, Melody, Nancy and all MMJ Ladies,
I have been a little wiped out since I finished all the DTGD challenges. I did make a couple of string pull cards because I just had to figure out that technique. I changed my string size, switched to DOX inks and chose glossy cardstock. Worked first time.
I watched some Tim Holtz videos as I love his tips fo using distress inks. Saw a few new products I had to have.....some new ephemera packs and a cool large background stamp that pulls apart for single sayings and you put the pieces back in so you can still use it as a text background stamp as well..brilliant.
There is a new DOX color Crackling Campire that Jennifer McGuire has been using on a small gel plate with Wilted Violet to make simple backgrounds with a brayer.
Oh no, SuZ, you are another enabler! Your string card looks like a lovely lily, I could see it in white and a bit of yellow for an Easter Card. I have the Ephemera Field Notes, just received some Crackling Campfire, and the Tiny Text bg Stamp that I haven’t tried just yet. And I’m thinking about getting a gel plate this week. I’m also running out of places to put things, lol.
Thanks for the compliment on my disaster. It is SO FAR from the beautiful floral tissue from Tim Holtz and the lovely shades of yellow and green I had on this mat before I ruined it with an overdose of black splatter. I mean, it literally looked like I’d spilled a bottle of black pepper all over! I was so upset I smeared white acrylic all over it and walked away, and when I came back after cooling off, I could see the wetness of the acrylic had caused the Distress inks to blend, and I thought, with some Dina Wakely cutouts and a black charcoal stick, I might be able to salvage the page.
Ok, I’m off to try something I saw on Pinterest (of course). It looks easy. Yeah. Famous last words...

You all are having too much fun! LOL. Your creations are all so fabulous. I will get to the challenges and the videos eventually. I do love mixed media, but got side tracked with making this junk journal. I have started it, and am bound determined to finish it. I don’t know how many videos I have watched trying to learn and still haven’t figured how I will do the cover. It all began with a leather book I wanted to use. I measured all my pages by the pages I took out, but now my pages are so heavy and thick, no way they will all fit! So now back to the drawing board! It is all for a DearJulieJulie challenge, and I have to go see what her requirements are for this months cover. I have a one track mind, and this is it this month! I will try to get back to this as soon as I can.
SuZ enabler alert, enabler alert lol. Oh no, I’m so doomed at present. Lol. I love those tiny stamps,.lsomething else to add to the list. I watched two more videos from THs 102 class and only 1 lesson to go and then that’s it. He so enables me lol.
Great string pull card. I love Gelli prints and will be doing a challenge on BGs using a gelli plate soon. Doh..JM stole my thunder lol. Thanks for the video.
Sharon, yay.you are going to play. Remember not to have your signature with too many pages...15 max and sometimes you can only fit up to two signatures in a journal. I only had one in my tiny journal I made as it wouldn’t take any more. Photos...we want to see it.
Happy creating everyone. I’ve been stamping tonight as I have mail to post tomorrow before we head off on our little trip. See you all soon.

Ha ha Kandie, who me? An enabler? If you already had the products mentioned you don’t need any help from little ‘ol me ROFL You are going to have a new addiction with the gel plate. I watched some YouTube videos while I was on my Elliptical yesterday by Teresa Morgan. Now I have two new Oxide ink colors I must have. Ripe Persimmon and Chipped Sapphire. Scrapbook.com here I come.

Glad you are having fun trying a new project. Look forward to seeing the results. I joined a swap for another group and we were to make a treasure map. As soon as the crackle paste dries I will take a pic and share it.

Morning Jane, or happy tomorrow - since you are in another time zone.
As I said to Kandie, we are all joyfully enabling each other.
Have a wonderful trip and hope you don’t get withdrawals from no crafting.
Hugs,

I tried Video #5 for today’s MMJ06 challenge fun. I don’t have scribble sticks, I have Neocolor wax crayon pastels. I learned not to dip the pastels into the water to draw, but to just draw with the dry crayon and then go over with a wet brush! And try not to tip my head when I draw, or all my stems will lean the same way, lol.
I watched the Gelato videos and loved them. I had a pack of Iridescent's so needing an ATC I made this as a quickie project Thanks to TH for the products that I used.
Adorable, SuZ! And you’re right about enabling. I have absolutely no problem enabling myself.
Sharon, welcome, welcome!
Well, I learned something about myself today. After all these years of having nice manicures and pretty polishes, the pandemic put a stop to that. I’ve gotten away from it, so I’m keeping nails short. But this last week, and especially today, I’ve learned that I LOVE getting my fingers all inky!!! I was trying to stain a TH small frame for a card I was making, using a foam applicator, and I finally said to myself, forget this. Just use your fingers, girl! Fingers to the distress pads and smearing the ink on the frame! Like being a kid again, lol. And gesso all over the side of my hand and on my elbow, no idea how it got there.
DH said tonight that must be why I’ve developed a recent habit of having milk and cookies before bed. I’m retreating into my childhood days!

Happy Thursday everyone! Here is my offering for two of the challenges: altered playing card and gelato background. I really enjoyed this, especially the gelatos. There is something about getting your fingers into a project. I'm enjoying everyone's work and thanks to those who got this all started:
