I like to browse Pinterest and save ideas to try. It might be a choice of colors, or feature, or layout. I saw this beautiful blue And white flower card today and liked the idea of a simple embossed stamp in the middle of a card.

So here’s what I made, using the above card as inspiration.
I embossed my lady image and colored the card with Distress inks. Put a stencil over the card and , with a baby wipe, rubbed off some ink all the way around the lady but not on her. Put another stencil, dots, over her dress and used Wink of Stella through the stencil. And randomly stamped bits of French bg stamps on the bg! What fun! Hopefully you can see the glitter of the sparkle brush!

It’s gorgeous.
I also have Pinterest but rarely go on it although I have lots of boards lol. When I go on I find I’ve lost hours. I must go on though and check all the beautiful cards I’ve saved and lots of MM. This one you found is beautiful.
Kandie, your lady and card is gorgeous. You are trying out all the techniques. Keep getting messy.
Jan, I forgot to say that I bought some Sizzix 3D EFs a couple of months ago and haven’t used them yet. One is a TH one and I also got his suitcase die. I cut some suitcases for a scrapbook page and not used them yet. It took me a while to work out how to put them together lol. Have fun
I’m playing today later..whoohoo

Kandie, I have thousands of cards saved on Pinterest, but rarely do I look at them! Like you said Jayne, I lose too much time lost in "looking" rather than "doing." But, then again, some days you just have to relax and browse.
Beautiful card Kandie!

I've finished the other panel too for the MMJ05 and I've done the MMJ04 with the paper towels, I use them very often in a background, I love the soft texture, I've only used those I found in my drawer, the special mixed media drawer!!

So I'm ready to start creating with these ideas. I have to admit I've kind of lost the directions for where to post what. I saw that Gracie said 'oops, wrong thread' and I thought 'hmmm I'm confused. So if anyone can make it clearer to me, please do. PM me if that's better.

Here’s me today. The CAS challenge is to use only 2 Warm colors or 2 Cool colors on a card. I was in the mood for pink, so I lined up three 3.5 x 2.5 pieces of cs in a row, and used pink Distress all the way across. Then yellow only on one, and only orange on one. I set aside the third one and used both orange and yellow on it, but it didn’t qualify for the challenge so that’s why I set it aside. Some globs of water and misting, and a bit of stencils later, a simple stamp on each of the two with TH’s Runway ladies, glue to a white bg, stamp a small sentiment, bingo, all done.
Then I just putzed around with the third one, lol.
I’m including the scrap paper in this photo. I should save it and see if I can use it for an MMJ project.

Oh wow Kandie. I love them all. I have these stamps and never used them. Your panels are amazing. Go girl. Also to follow on from what Melody suggested, use that scrap paper for die cuts or behind a die cut.
Jean, Kandie is correct...challenges thread just for challenges...everything else here. Sorry for the confusion....learning as we go. Can’t wait to see what you create.
Happy MMing everyone

Jayne, could you add the words 'chat and post' or 'chat/post' onto the title of this thread? I think that will help with the confusion of where to post our creations.
Wow Melody Your card.....amazingly beautiful. I can’t stop looking at it. How do you get the link back to a thread without getting all the SCS link detail?
Will edit the thread now..thanks.

Wow, I don't come in a for a week and then find you are all making the best things and doing amazing stuff. Note to self - drop on the MMJ thread more often.
I have to admit, when I heard masking tape I was thinking: meh... but the creations are so fabulous that now I wish I could take the day off and make one!!!
Kandie, you have been busy - wow. Some great stuff. Love Anita and Melody's creations too. The textures and looks are sooo amazing.
Off to watch the videos for the MMJ05. Hugz

My son has got his first bike 2 days ago...I'm so scared!!
My son got his motorcycle license a few years ago, no idea he was going to do that, but he has not been able to afford a bike yet. I'm assuming he is renewing it though. I too am a little scared about it. It'll be a while until he can buy a bike, he and his wife need a second car and they both are going back to school.

Ok I get it now. I didn't see that there were two threads, one for chatting and creations, the other for challenges only. Everyone's creations look great. I will be along any day now.

Kandie all your work is just beautiful, I love them all.
Jean Both our sons had motorbikes, at different times, the youngest came off his a broke his collarbone so he eventually sold it, sigh of relief then the eldest bought one, he didn’t have any accidents thankfully and got tired of it so he sold it, I used to worry all the time.
GS woke up in a mood, didn’t want me to play with him first thing but then cheered up until it was time for school, wouldn’t say goodbye! Then the school rang to say he fell and banged his head, he came home all upset so he’s been miserable since! I’m sure he will fine tomorrow,
Our friends arrived home this evening and just sent a photo of our villa, all is ok!
Jean, my DH had a motorcycle. I rode with him a few times. I loved it, as long as he was being careful, but all guys need to show off. We have a friend who had a bike and they'd go out together. But you know how Wisconsin weather is, right, and he wasn't a diehard biker, so he didn't ride it all that much. And then, when he wanted to take it out, couldn't get it started or some other engine issues, simply because he hadn't ridden in awhile. Eventually he sold it.
Thanks Melody for the info. I'm printing it off for reference.
Kandie, I received an envelope from you this arvo with some beautiful vintage papers in...thank you so much.
I went shopping again...that TH has a lot to answer for! LOL

Tips and Tricks for Making Mixed Media Tags by Kate at rukristin.com
What I really love about tags is that they are the perfect size for me to try out new techniques and ideas before using them on larger projects. I like to play with a lot of messy mediums, like spray ink, Gelatos, and stamps so my tags are very mixed media and have a lot of layers. Here are a few of my tips for making mixed media tags like these:
Start with a coat of gesso. While this isn’t necessary, if you’re using a bunch of wet mediums or colors, the gesso acts like a primer- the wet mediums will warp the paper less and the colors will be bolder and brighter.
Let the mediums dry between layers. Unless you’re going for a “wet on wet” technique, it’s helpful to let any wet mediums dry before moving on. If you’re a bit impatient (like me) you can use a heat gun to speed up the drying.
It’s all about the layers. I like to start with a background layer. That may be stamping or embossing or it may be a gelli print. After that, I’ll add another layer using a different medium. (stenciling, stamping, etc.) I keep going until I’m happy and I decide that it’s finished. My tags always have at least 3+ layers.
Try out new techniques! I’ve got a whole pinterest board on tag ideas, and another for artsy/art journal ideas. I like to find techniques on pinterest or blogs and then try them out on tags. You can even come up with your own techniques, that you think might work. If not, no biggie, Just go over it with a coat of gesso and try again.
