Kandie, that sounds like Geico. I love the one where they have a clogging problem! Or a problem with aunt's!

Kathy, you’re right, it’s Geico! AN-i-MAL! AN-i-MAL! LOL

Gracie, I had two of those fox tails, and had them hung over my bedroom dresser mirror by my small collection of vintage clutch purses. I finally donated them to Goodwill last month. I’d like to have seen the face of the employee who opened THAT box, ha!

Thank you for compliments on the journal. This one was using a regular book cover with the page block removed. I hadn’t made one like that before. Next week starts one for Christmas. My husband tells me the hobby keeps me off the streets and out of the bars. :]

Thank you, Ann!

Kandie such a gorgeous journal.

Ann, thank you for letting us know about Lisa. I’ve sent her a message. I only posted her challenge yesterday for WTUI. Such sad news.

Happy weekend everyone

Good day or evening, all! Pretty frosty here today but sunny, should get into the 50's I guess. My clematis has finally withered from the frost. I'm adjusting to the cold better each day. My house is pretty coolish year round, which is the way I like it. I use an electric blanket in the winter when I watch tv. I can't sleep if I'm too warm. I do use space heaters in my computer room and in the basement when I'm stamping. Since it's just me, I don't like to heat spaces I'm not in. Right now my house is 63 degrees and I'm comfortable.
Kandie, I LOVE AN-I-MAL!!! I have a Hallmark ornament of him playing his drums, he talks to me. I also have Beaker. Those Geico commercials are a hoot. I laugh at the Progressive too. That Flo!!!!!
I'm so sorry about Lisa's Dad. I'm assuming it was sudden? And Kathy, sympathy to your sister. My Dad has been gone since 1990, seems like another lifetime. My Mom only 5 years.
I love vintage stuff like those furs and purses. I almost bought a vintage leather clutch with a Bakelite handle but I wasn't certain it was Bakelite. I know there are ways to test it but it wasn't reasonably priced for me and the leather would need some work.
I got up early today to do three things: 1) watch the ISS go over at 6:29am 2) grocery shop by 7:15 am 3) take my car to the mechanic for oil change/winter check up. So I'm home today. Yesterday was busy, I signed up for two classes at the Y....chair yoga and Zumba Gold. I've never done Zumba before, this was supposed to be a little quieter, it wasn't really. The instructor was a sub, usually teaches regular Zumba, so I'm guessing it will calm down. I liked it a lot, love to dance, but my left knee spoke to me frequently. I'll have to take it easier going forward, otherwise I'll be on my you know what. It's amazing how much better I'm physically, now that I've lost weight. Keep remembering that, Jean. Then, to counteract the Zumba, I went to this awesome bakery north of me, open very limited hours, as I was in the neighborhood, I thought 'why not?' Ann, have you gone to Sweet Creations?
Shelly, you home yet? It will be a shock, I'm sure.
Catherine, rain is good for CA, except for the mud slides etc.
Linda, I hope you figure out the technical issues. Thinking of you.
I'm sorry for Victoria's difficulties.
Would like good thoughts and vibes for my Uncle Don. He returned to the hospital for a few days but is better and is coming home today. He had a procedure a few weeks ago to drain a cyst around his stomach, not sure where, and there was a problem with it, needed draining again. I'm not certain what a cyst in your stomach would do to you, it is benign. The last two months have been so hard for him, all because of an unvaccinated granddaughter who passed on Covid. He could stand and walk before that, now cannot do either. Was released from rehab because he was not progressing, so now my aunt and cousin are his caretakers. He is 91 but very full of life or at least, he was. I know it doesn't take much at that age.
Speaking of unvaccinated, not happy with Mr. Aaron Rodgers. There was a funny but not funny meme about Brett Favre answering the call to get to Green Bay.
Have a great day, stay well and safe.

I knew I forgot at least one thing...Kandie, lovely journal, so full of sunshine. I have a stamp similar to the one on the cover, I used it recently and someone commented 'how can Helen Keller see the shadows?' I wasn't amused. There is a good PBS American Masters about her, learned a lot.

Jean, I know of the sweet shop you are talking about but have never gone in to buy anything! With all the baking I have done not needed! Plus I am a diabetic, don't need that sugar!

So glad to hear that you lost weight! I am going to have to try harder, should have done it before the wedding.

That shop has a connection to the old House of Cakes in Menomonee Falls. That's why their bakery is so good. I went in about a half hour before they close, I was surprised how much they had left. No one needs sugar, I'll pay the price eventually.
When is the wedding again? How's the outfit? I have learned that losing weight for an event isn't always the best idea. Lose weight because you want to be healthier, that can last a lifetime. That's my goal, anyway.

Good morning. Just wanted to let you all know I'm still here. I read the chat, but don't comment. I should just say 'DITTO' to everyone else's nice comments. LOL. I haven't made a card in ages. I have been playing with fabric instead.

Good morning! I've been busy doing chores around the house and have made a good start. It is sunny and cool here today. I was right, I didn't get anything done on stamp organizing with our friend over. Went to bed late too. In fact, it was challenging to get 10,000 steps let alone the 14,000 I usually do. Right now the house is quiet other than the washing machine working. It is just Honey, Wesley, and I home at the moment.

Kandie, too funny about your shopping cart contents and that is a gorgeous journal!

Funny you should mention that Geico commercial with Animal in the attic. I saw just yesterday after I read about it from you...hmmm....

Jean, I love doing Zumba. I'm not sure what Zumba gold is but have loved Zumba in the past. I have a friend who is an excellent Zumba teacher, so much fun!

Well, I need to get back to my chores!

Happy Friday everyone. I slept 10 hours last night. I got the flu shot and Covid booster shot yesterday. I have a dull headache and am very tired, otherwise, no major complaints. I'm just going to give in to a "lost" day and take Tylenol, read and nap. I'm enjoying Falliday Fest but will have to wait until later to attempt anything today.

Jean, DH and I were a little aggravated with Mr Rodgers ourselves. These players are supposed to be role models for the younger people (some of them, at least), and with all the problems getting people vaccinated, I’m sure a few with say “well, Aaron Rodgers didn’t think it was necessary!” :(

63 degrees? I would FREEZE. Our thermostat is set at 74 and I still wear flannels and cover up with blankets. DH says we have no blood.

Wow, you go on the chair yoga and Zumba Gold, so proud of you, Jean. How much have you lost to date? I’m at 30 lbs which is too much but it’s hard to keep weight on when there are so many things I can’t eat because of this dermatitis issue. I have to maintain 80% alkaline and only 20% acidic, and all the stuff I love is in the acidic column. Fruit and nuts and greens are my friends now. I’d better check my DNA…. I may have progressed to being part chipmunk, squirrel or rabbit, lol.

Good thoughts heading out for your Uncle Don.

Kandi, I've lost about the same as you. I'm sort of on a plateau right now. I gave myself permission to eat a bit more red food while traveling, red meaning sweets and snacks for the most part. Funny thing, sweet things taste too sweet to me now. I'm always preferred sour and salty anyway. Thank you for your encouragement.
Uncle Don did not come home yesterday, they are stabilizing his blood thinner. How he has lived this long, I have no clue, he has so much going on health wise.

Well done Kandie and Jean,

kathy I love cherries but hate anything made with them, the same with coffee, coffee cake is a big no no .

our weather has changed overnight, we both woke up cold as we only had the duvet cover and throw, I’ve put the duvet on so we will most likeLy be too hot now, it forcast snow near Barcelona!! It was so windy I had about ten pegs on my sheets, it broke a few pegs too but I got two loads of washing dry, I even had a sweatshirt on, two days ago just shorts and tea shirt.

I’ve got a bit obsessed with some glitter foam I saw, bought a few colours and have been cutting shapes out, no idea what I will use them on but I do love a bit of sparkle, Lol

I was going to ask Jan what pegs were and then I realized they are what I call clothespins!! I love learning words!

I don't like cherries, but I love cherry flavor! LOL The kisses are just a cherry flavored cream filling inside a milk chocolate kiss!

Good evening all,

Our Grandchild stayed the last two days at our home. So there was no time for anything else.

Gracie, thanks, I`m glad it arrived safe.I didn't get yourPM.

Kandie, what a georgeous journal.

Jean, thats to cold for us. We need 71,6 degrees, otherwise my DH would freeze. But in the bedroom we have no heating.

Kathy, yay for cortial kisses, enjoy them.

Have a great weekend, you all, hugs Dagmar.

Jan, I knew what pegs were...I read a lot of British books and watch a lot of British TV.
We are absolutely gorgeous here in WI. Sunny, lovely color, in the 60s I think.

Kandie, it must be so hard plan your food. Do you know if you'll ever be able to add foods back in?

Jean, I’m thinking probably not. I eat one wrong thing and my entire body itches like crazy and I run around the house scratching everywhere, which makes my skin all red and inflamed again. The list of what is okay to eat gets crossed with my irritable bowel disease, and both together make for a total PAIN in the you-know-what. I am down to my weight of before I met DH six years ago, which is 104, and I bought a size 4 pair of brushed cotton jeans and they fit. But I can’t wear them for long because the backs of my knees and my waist get red and rough and start burning. Everything has to be loose. Such a pain. Good thing I’m retired!!!

Here are the cards I made today for the second day of the A2ZChristmasChallenge. The bg is watercolored with a sparkly paint (the glitter doesn’t show) on watercolor paper. The image is backed into cardboard to raise it up. The cherries have a glossy coating in them. I’m watching each day’s video. I’m not interested in day 3 and 4, those are decoupage and I’m not a big fan unless it’s a mixed media project. But I learned something…

Did you all know you can separate the back of a paper napkin, tape it around an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of card stock with masking tape, and run it through your printer, and what you want printed will actually print on the napkin layer? It was so cool to see! I’m waiting for my ink cartridge to arrive in the mail as I am out now, and then will give it a try.

Kandie gorgeous cards. I love to use cardboard to back my panels. It’s been a while since I’ve done that. Thanks for the reminder and all the tips.

Ladies I won’t be making Xmas cards this year due to time but my wishes will be peace and good health for you all and your family.

Pegs…..Jan I have to do that when our wind is blowing and peg the bottom of the sheets up so they don’t hit against our fence. When it’s really blowing I find them wrapped around the line lol. Jan did your mum have washing day on Monday and ironing on Tuesday? I seem to wash every second day some weeks. I wonder where it all comes from when there’s only the 2 of us.

Cherry choccies….noooo…they are one of the few I can’t eat and Turkish delight and coconut. Now give me toffee and caramel and chocolate Brazil nuts..oh yep. I’m trying not to eat too much choccie at present but am failing.

Hope you are feeling better Gracie.

Well we’ve had a different week. Went out shopping 3 days as we had nowhere we could sit without getting in the way. We went out for dinner three nights and have eaten so much Asian food. I’m fit to burst and bang goes the kilo I lost last week. It’s come back and more,

The inside of our house is all painted…yay. We still have to put all of the rooms back together but we have made a start. Tomorrow they will start on the outside. I’m just so glad the inside is finished. It looks so clean and fresh. Not sure how long it will stay like that lol.

Heading out for the day so will wave to you all. It’s going to be 26 today…at last. Keep well and thinking of all of you who have lost family or have sick family members. Keep warm.

Jayne, my Mum always had set days for cleaning each room, washing , even when we had all left home! My dad worked shifts and if he was in bed asleep she would pile the stuff on the bed while he slept so she could mop the Lino, he slept so deeply it never woke him up, no vacuum cleaners in those days of course

I love Turkish delight, when we went to Turkey we went to the shop, never seen so much of the stuff and they made you sit and drink tea while choosing the flavour,

jayne I’m pleased to hear you’re finally getting the house straight again.

Steve's foot is still painful so we are staying home, had to have a fire last night, just to take the chill off and put the duvet on the bed ,unfortunately I got out the spare thick one, we usually only use a thin duvet and a throw, it feels like a ton weight but we both slept well although I woke up my hand was freezing, I must have been too hot and had my arm out of bed!

Prayers for your granddaughter, Ann. Our church secretary had to go to the ER as she was having trouble breathing. Most of the people I'm hearing have covid now have been vaccinated. I didn't go to my sisters MIL's funeral because I'm hearing people say they got covid after going to weddings and funerals. My prescious LSS lady died after catching it from someone at a wedding. I miss her so much. Her grandkids continue to run the store, but it isn't the same. I watched our preachers son in law this morning. He gave the sermon to a live audience of 3 people. He's my son's age, but very very smart. He's a word guy and digs deep when he preaches.

Hello everyone! We've had no internet today for whatever reason. It has been out since before I got up this morning. That's OK as we've been busy splitting and stacking wood. I think we'll be sore tomorrow! (DH, DD1, and I will be sore, DD2 is at work.) So thankful to have it all split - log splitters were a FABULOUS invention! It isn't all stacked yet though. That has taken all day but it is a good day's work.

Ann, prayers for your granddaughter.

Ann so sorry to hear that your GD has covid.

catherine our friend had a log splitter, quite fascinating, ha,ha we are lucky when we order logs they bring it chopped to the length we need, a mixture of olive, lemon and others but not pine, it spits and makes such a mess on the glass.
he’s amazing as he has a small truck, he reverses it down our drive with only inches each side, tips it, gently so as not to break any tiles, amazes me every time!

weather is a little warmer, today we have jobs to do, steve has bloods to do, shopping , collecting meds, it’s all go,LOL
