How do I embed links???

I am sure there is probably a thread out there somewhere about this but I am just not good at finding these things. How do I embed a link in a word when posting comments on cards im uploading or commenting on a thread etc... I would also like to know how to do other technical stuff , is there a thread somewhere that talks about these kinds of things??
